I like this edit a lot, but I would crop the FX logo and sacrifice some image loss in order to get rid of that damn "FX" - it really took me out of the moment. I believe you could crop and zoom without losing much.

The Star Wars 4K77 project (and 4K80/4K83) is an example of a community that hasn't felt the need to gatekeep their content and consequently their community is thriving with tens of thousands of users and multiple ongoing highly professional fan edit projects.
If Disney & co. aren't beating down the doors of the Project 4K77 contributors, how much less likely is it that Artisan is going to care about a Blair Witch Project fan edit?

Preventing genuine fans of the Blair Witch Project from seeing the unreleased footage benefits no one.
On the contrary, the more interest that's demonstrated to the studio means the more potential profit to be made from releasing an official re-edit.
Pretending that restricting access to the bootleg is all about respect to Artisan and their bank account isn't a good excuse not to share it.
It's been over 23 years and there's no indication that there's any plan to ever release the unseen footage. You aren't hurting anyone but genuine fans at this point.
Too bad that October, the prime month for garnering attention for this issue, has came and went.

If there was ever a way to get Ed Sanchez & co. to notice demand for a "Sanchez cut" or other new material, there's no better way than to get their attention than with a sudden resurgence of interest, new discussions, reviews and headlines in response to the unofficial fan edit finally being made accessible.

I've messaged most of the (very) few active members still on this board in the hope they would be willing to share the fan edit but as previously mentioned, the only user so far to respond was quite nasty and unwilling.
If you're one of the lucky users to have this fan edit, I'd appreciate the opportunity to finally view it. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, haven't been on here for a month, but I come back to him PMing me 8 times in a row saying I shouldn't share to people that don't deserve it and calling me out. Really loser stuff.

I tried to share the kevbones cut I had with Mikedbo but it appears that was another one lost to my hdd failure. Anyone have his updated cut without the watermark on the FX scene? And I do still need to get that full FX cut if anyone can share. Thanks everyone.

I would also love to see the Extended Cut, just like any BW fan. I think I have just two questions:

1. Why is this so hard to get your hands on? Why not to share it with the community and even ask for donations for your work?
2. What one needs to do to watch that version?

It's not "so hard" to get your hands on it. It's an edit of a film that I don't own the copyright for, I'm not just gonna put it on YouTube or have a public link. And I'm definitely not gonna ask for donations, because again, copyright. Simply message me and I'll send you the link.
