Is anybody able to provide me a link to this extended fan edition? I went back over the thread and asked the member if he could still provide it but haven't heard anything, any help guys would be much appreciated!

It appears the 9 GB file size doesn't scare them one bit. And I don't have my compressed 2 gig file anymore so I can't help either.

It's funny because I was working on my own extended cut, but kevbones got around to it first, plus he had access to the workprint which I thought was impossible to find! How he did it I'll never know.

Please keep working on your own extended cut, and use the workprint as your basis. Don't be worried about the video and audio quality. The workprint looks and sounds as it should for 'buried under ruins for a year' footage. Please add on Heather's dialog mess up in the cemetery which explains the salad in the car later. Send it to me when you are finished. Thanks.

Sweet, will do, thanks entity! And that is exactly what I was planning, using those flubs and bloopers to justify the salad scene, the one at the cemetery and coffin rock, though the latter was shot after, also they just make them look more human and woefully unprepared. I was planning on using the documentaries as that other poster wanted to do, but it seems never got around to it.

I wouldn't attempt including Crybaby into it. It doesn't work. Not even cut down. It's best added after the ending. Motel poetry is best with only Mike's two poems. I wouldn't include Josh's poems.

I will consider your suggestion, but I personally have included all of the above as I am a completionist. But I'll also see how various alternate takes such as yours work, perhaps you're right.

Haha fair enough! I thought they were all good to be honest, each one shows what kind of a person they are. Mike is a lover not a fighter, Josh is a fighter not a lover, and Heather has no imagination. But yes Mike's are far superior haha.

Thanks for posting the link i thought i'd missed my chance, i began work on an extended just so i could make a blu ray to stick on my shelf but it seems at least 2 other people beat me to it, i've been putting together everything i could find, various cuts of the first 2 movies, all the docs and i just got hold of a broadcast of the uk doc supplied by the guy who made the transfer for channel 4's witchcraft night. Will be looking at AI upscaling some of the docs too its been somewhat of a dream to put together an ultimate blair witch package, is there a comprehensive list of actual available deleted scenes? i changed pcs and lost some so with the blair witch site shutdown i dont know if i managed to grab all those

There are five (of six) that are usable (besides motel poetry and Crybaby)

Heather forgetting her dialog at the cemetery (a favorite of mine)

Back in the tent again talking.

Discussing whether or not to leave packs behind.

Josh wanting to climb a tree to signal a passing plane.

Mike laying on a tarp trying to comfort Heather.

The sixth (Mike's goodbye) is pretty unusable because of the twisted Porky Pig watermark and The Cellar music going on. Plus it has an FX logo.

I have been remiss.

kevbones may have left the building, but none of us truly gave him the credit he deserved.

Last night I really watched his extended cut from start to finish, and I was actually amazed at how meticulously edited it is. Every extra moment from the Sundance/workprint has been seamlessly and flawlessly blended into the theatrical cut Blu-ray edition. It's so precise that I would quickly rewind moments to play again just to see the perfectly smooth transitions play out again.

My only gripes, (besides the file size, which I easily compressed without losing any quality that I can see or hear) are 3 extra scenes that I feel should not have been included, and one short extra scene that was not included. I believe he may have not known that it existed to include (it''s a favorite add-in moment of mine) But all-in-all it's an amazingly well crafted extended cut.

So I say Bravo! to kevbones for his effort.

And you have my thanks.

And another thing..

If an official extended cut were ever authorized, I would hope that it would focus more on our trio pre-woods, that is to say if that extra footage even exists..

It's the characters that we love so much, rather than their endless hiking and fighting and suffering. A little extra woods time would be fine too, but I would hope to see much more of them having fun and feeling free. Just my two cents.

This newly released unofficial extended cut has gotten me energized since last night. Don't worry, I'll come back down from it again soon enough.

I've counted I have 20 deleted scenes but have have not gone through them pretty sure i don't have the porky pig marked one yet but if all these scenes are in the extended then i don't really need to hang on to them just a shame the BW site closed

Just watched kev's edit. A masterpiece. A full 35 minutes longer than the official one. Expertly stitched together, and you surprised me with some other inclusions i didnt know about.
This is my go-to version now, and I agree about using the HD version as a base, its visually better so why not.
The only thing I can nit-pick is the porky pig scene. A blurry pixelated effect would work better than green noise, in my opinion.
But yeah, wow.

Even without the porkiness, that moment takes away from Heather's breakdown in two ways: One, we have always assumed that Mike was probably asleep, not sitting there watching her, and two, his goodbye dialog removes some impact from her moment. .. "If I die.. cuz I think I'm gonna" .. "I just wanna be remembered for the bumbling idiot that I am"

I still don't agree with Crybaby being included, even shortened. It slows down the pacing on the way to the woods.

I also didn't like the bones footage crammed into the stickman forest. Just doesn't belong.

And Heather's cemetery dialog mistake is missing, which explains their car salad a minute later.

Other than these personal gripes, it's very technically well done.

Yeah, the green noise actually was an exporting mistake. It was supposed to be just regular black noise but when exported, it did that. Need to change it.

I agree, Mike's apology takes away the moment as does Crybaby Bridge, but the original film is perfect as is and this just a fun way to watch the movie + all the extra scenes thrown in for whenever you want to see all that's out there (mostly). I mean included the scenes where Josh and Michael are really going at Heather like Josh pushing her down and Michael asking if she wants to get knocked out, etc, makes you hate them so those change the entire movie, which is why it was wise to cut those out. But it's fascinating we have those small clips to insert that can completely change how we feel about the characters in just a few instances.

And yeah, I'll probably remove the bones footage, kind of a nothing shot.

I'll probably get around to a re-edit here soon. I do want to include the original Artisan logo instead of the Lionsgate logo, just wasn't thinking when initially doing this. Will fix Mike's apology scene was well to the best of my ability + remove "bones," and I'll see if I can add Heather's dialog mistake if I can find it.
