Artisan Edit v2 (for TYPE O version) is now pretty much v2.1 now, digital owl is restored etc.

I fixed a few very minor things too. The edit is basically exactly where I want it now. It's uploading but very slow today, so I might have to update the link for the download in a few hours time if not later on.

Final plans for this edit within the coming weeks are to take another look at the last 8 minute interrogation scenes, there is a few things there like popping sounds, unbalanced audio and a couple other hitches which I plan on smoothing out. We're almost there!

You seriously need to go through your interrogations again. You have things being spoiled before the true reveal. Just isolate the interrogations and pay attention to what's going on, beat by beat. Hint: things need to be trimmed out. And also, the huge SLAMS aren't necessary.

once the edit is complete and polished, I plan on releasing a 1440p/4k upscale. An unofficial bluray edit. File size will be gigantic but it is without compression and looks fantastic. Though I don't expect you to download it as the size is probably going to be at least 70+ GB

I have also begun work on the police interrogation scene overhaul, so far I've reduced the loudness of the 'slam' sound effects between scenes by 60%



watch in 4K on YT. Source is better than YT due to minor compression but you can see for yourself what this movie looks like with compression cleaned up.

You mean you're going to re-digitize this footage at a higher resolution so you can blow it up? .. And it'll only take a few minutes?

You don't need a 4K screen to benefit from the upscaled footage, it's mostly for cleaning up compression so you can still watch on 1080p screens. I myself use a 1440p ultrawide monitor and the compression cleanup is highly noticeable compared to the standard 1080p footage.

So when I play your video at YouTube's 2160p.. what exactly am I seeing?

the source footage itself is of higher quality, not 'true 4k' but upscaled. Cycle through the quality presets on youtube to see for yourself. Look at the compression on 1080p compared to 4K. Alternatively, just watch the same scenes I've shown on my 1080p edit then look at the Youtube videos and compare the quality. overall it's just a cleaner image.

This is exactly what the 'bluray' release of BW2 from Spain has done. It's not an official bluray release by Lionsgate, they've just upscaled it exactly like I have at 200%.

I downloaded your 4K video in 2160p and took a screenshot. And then compared it to the exact same screenshot moment from my cut (which was made from your 1080p extended cut)

The "4K shot" is a tiny bit sharper, but the biggest difference is Kim's makeup, it isn't as white in your 4K version.. more normal human color.

Of course my cut is a compressed version of your cut, so that's not a fair comparison.

You need to take two exact screenshots right after Kim says "lady" to Ham Lady. Do it from your 1080p source and compare it to your 4K source.

Honestly, the 200% upscale (2x 1080p) is where it's at. The 4K version (3840x2160) is hardly more noticeable in terms of quality. I believe I can make a fairly reasonable file size when it comes to the 200% upscale version.

Ham Lady died in late 2020, RIP. She was truly underrated, Kim pales in comparison....
