I am not done with Artisan Edit yet, I am thinking of removing the added scenes in the woods because of the poor quality and it's far too jarring. Unfortunately I would like to keep them but overall it's better without. I might just keep version 1.2 as an optional download.

updated Artisan edit to v2.0, currently uploading alternate download link for TYPE O Negative intro for v2.0 now

- removed 'summer 1999' intro text to be more accurate to Berlinger's script
- removed low quality ruins walk scenes
- updated Eileen Treacle directors cut hospital scene visual quality a bit more, dutch tilt added on walking backwards for more spooky effect.
- few small audio balance fixes and popping sound removed
- slightly better quality 'book of shadows' footage added at 42:33 - 42:43, can see the stick totem a bit better now,
also cropped to 16:9 with no minor black border like before if you noticed it
- black fade out removed at 56:25
- added a newer and much better quality 'Blair Witch 2' outro visual after the credits in place of the low quality
panning shot (it's really awesome)
- slight audio adjustments to Kim / Owl campfire delusion scene

considering....
- removing Witchy Tristen window owl added footage. Restoring the digital wings window owl theatrical scene (yes/no?)
- removing campfire new music (rage against machine & Cowboy music), replace with theatrical audio. (yes/no?)

Unless you're talking about keeping sexy possessed Tristan pointing at the window while allowing better CGI owl to fly through said window.. then yes, go ahead. The original owl is nothing but a ball. The CGI owl is only a little bit better because at least it's not some weird ball being thrown through a window.

None of this will ever make it more enjoyable for the 8 of 10 people who swear eternal hatred of this movie.

That's their loss, because what I've restored is a well thought out movie with a great cast with a good director behind it. The biggest example of studio tampering in cinema history next to movies like Event Horizon, or American Psycho 2 (The girl who wouldn't die)

But Berlinger's original vision doesn't make it more enjoyable to anyone.

This is hard for me to explain.

I've watched this movie since October 27th 2000. 80% of me had always hated it. 20% of me loved it.

When I re-cut it for myself, it became more like 70% of me loves MY CUT, but still 30% of me still hates this movie BECAUSE OF THE STUDIO CUT AND THE ORIGINAL BERLINGER VISION IN GENERAL... not because I didn't fan-cut it the way I wanted, but simply because there will always be 30% of me that will always dislike the core concept of Berlinger's idea for a Blair Witch 2.
