Well, my "remastering" effort turned out virtually the same as my original (of course) but a few things differ now from my old version.
First and foremost, the picture and audio quality. The few changes happened along the way. So it ended up 3 minutes longer this time. I felt there were a few moments that I wanted back. It's 20 minutes shorter than the studio cut.
I will go on.
Stephen now goes to the door to see ghost Eileen on the bridge. Originally in my version he went to check on Tristen only to find out she was having a nightmare. After all these years I realized that Eileen doesn't shout to Stephen "You brought it back with you!" .. I'm now pretty sure she actually said .. "I brought it back with you!"... And if I'm right, that means they didn't get infected with the evil at the ruins, given Erica's chant and the old tree that was never there before. So I now suspect Kim resting alone on Eileen's grave opened the door. They were doomed the moment they picked her up.
Eileen is not included in the hospital. And Tristen never speaks of seeing her there. I've always felt that one Eileen sighting is enough. Stephen's sighting is when she actually tries to deliver her real warning. I know she delivers part of it in the original directors cut footage, but that really wasn't her full warning.. "Something IS wrong"
Towards the end possessed Tristen still mentions "the little girl backwards" because she also mentions Erica backwards. Tristen knows what Stephen has seen beyond just Erica on the monitor (and also through the window and on the bridge) and then later as planned, both Kim and Stephen understand to run the tape backwards.
This is also a clue as to why Eileen is walking backwards and then screams. Because she's being pulled backwards while she is trying to deliver her warning. Eileen's ghost isn't walking backwards by choice.
My second example of reintegrated footage is that ..now I have the phone actually ringing with Cravens bringing Jeff to the front door, but without police folders being found in Jeff's desk.
A third change (actually this is a deletion) is that now Erica doesn't specifically blame Heather's footage as the reason for being angry about society not accepting Wiccans.
No Stephen whining during his interrogation. Less Stephen in general.
"BW2: Entity Cut" is now available.
Just ask if interested.
