Wow I had no clue there was actually some different versions of BWP. I'd loved to somehow see this special edition and a potential extended edition Blu-Ray one day.

With all the different ways to watch video now they could easily put out a new extended version to some type of streaming/instant service. They could just ditch a physical release if they didn't want to put money into one. I'm sure people would watch it and it could even potentially gather hype for a BW3.

After being absent for nearly two months, all the previous posts were a good read. I never knew about all the different cuts. Can only dream of getting my hands on one of them one day. Also, a book would be awesome. Keep us updated.

Anyone who hasn't seen the Special Edition and wants to get it can send me a PM (we can't post direct links to it on the board).

The first shot of their doc in the cemetery was a screw-up which ended up being the film salad they were proud of.

I just noticed that the sounds outside the tent at the 46-47 minute mark are almost completely different in the SE. Instead of it being like young children giggling and such, in the SE its a bizarre screaming that sounds more like a witch or maybe a young child. The SE noises were much scarier in my opinion.

Allow me to finally set all this straight.
The first and longest version was shown at Enzian Theater in Florida in 1998. It was almost 3 hours long.
Then the UCF showing later in 1998 was cut down a bit shorter. Whatever the Manhattan showing was it was most likely the UCF cut re-shown.
Then the Sundance showing of January 1999 is the 'workprint' -- also somehow known as this 'Special Edition' -- and it is only 5 minutes longer than the final Artisan version of July 1999.
Four versions. We have the last two. That's it.

Sadly, Voke hasn't been online in almost a year. He, like his workprint, have vanished.

Hey there! Some people on here might have the workprint and can share. As for the FX Cut, I don't think anyone on here has it. It's quite rare.

Hi! I too would like to see the workprint if anyone has it to share. Been watching the movies tonight. Glad I logged back on here if there is a chance of seeing an alternate version.

I'd also love to see that if anyone has a copy they're willing to share! I've been wondering what that extended cut might look like. How did people even get a hold of it in the first place?
