Yes it will. I use the festival cut as a base for the edit, so the alternate edit I plan to release once I have version #4 out, will have the different perspective from Heather during the running away from the tent scene, whilst using the theatrical house ending scene.

I have it, though SecondSight kept copyright striking my channel on YouTube for uploading any of their documentary or bonus features. I hit 2/3 strikes in under two days and immediately pulled any Blair Witch Project content from my channel, so it's unlikely it'll appear on YouTube again.

version #4 is out on the large download (google drive 30gb edition)
other smaller downloads will follow shortly, ETA 12-16hrs for all to be uploaded.

Also as some of you may be aware Second Sight shipped every edition of Blair Witch Project with an audio error for the theatrical cut on disc 1. So once I've received my copy sometime either near Christmas or early Jan next year I will begin replacing the theatrical scenes with the updated and correct audio. They may also have some fixes for the Festival cut too, we'll see.

The improved video was the big selling point for me. I didn't notice the audio thing until it was posted about. So it's dual mono? I'm actually ok with that. It's mostly talking anyway. What are we missing?

From what I read, it's most noticeable during the closing credits, where the music (such as it is) is supposed to be in stereo. There may be other differences in the rest of the film, too. Not a huge deal, but I figure if we're paying sixty-something bucks for a new release, especially one that's meant to be an improvement on the original, it should be done correctly.

Finally I was able to download the 30gb file of version #4 and I just would like to thank paxtn for all the effort put into this, it was like watching a new movie. I hadn't seen the film for quite sometime so it brought back a lot of memories from my teenage years, when I was completely obsessed with BW.

Now that we finally have the long version of BWP we just need the DC of Blair Witch 2. Let's hope it'll happen someday.

Having difficulty in downloading it because of the quota on Mega. Even when the time elapses and I resume it just resets the counter again. Will have to wait for the smaller version link.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the edit. Some people think I've only done swap and replace on scenes, but there is more to it than meets the eye. Happy you all appreciate it. When I started making this edit initially, it was because I was very disappointed in the fact that a few years ago Eduardo Sanchez said that he was open to making an extended cut of BW project! Great right? Well, when I saw that the Second Sight release would contain 90+ minutes of deleted scenes and a brand new restoration for the film, you'd expect as a special feature in the Bluray an extended cut, right? ... RIGHT?

Well that didn't happen. I'm not sure why, but it is clear that the footage they released in this Second Sight version was 100% that 'initial 3hr edit' that they had originally planned (which was mentioned recently on their Facebook group also) So I'm not sure what caused this to happen, but if they'd only edited back together like I've done we'd have that as a bonus feature in the release. Guess they were too lazy? It can't be because of Lionsgate or licensing issues or whatever, that wouldn't make sense as we've literally got the content here to make that edit. It sucks really but I'm beginning to think they just slapped it in there and called it a day and were like "nah too hard, let someone else do it"

Anyway, what matters is we've got the edit now and we can all enjoy it. That's all I wanted when I made my BW2 edit and this one as well, I just want people to enjoy the content which Lionsgate has robbed us of for so many years. BW Project and Joe Berlinger's directors cut for BW2. There is no reason why we as fans can't have this content other than the company not caring about us.



With all that said - I am now uploading version #5, so the links are going to be down for a while. But I'm going to provide you all with some new locations to download the edit from, this is the hardest part of the edit... GETTING it to you all without being limited by user download counts, soft caps and the rest of the nonsense which comes with uploading a simple file. One of the new sites I am uploading to will have a 250 download limit, and 30 day up time for links, no other restrictions (so they say) So, I'll test the waters with that and it'll give me an idea of how many people are actually trying to grab the edit.

You should definitely request a replacement disc, all you have to do is email '[e-mail]' with the subject titled as 'Blair Replacement Disc', include your order #number from Second Sight in the email and the rest is handled by them.

Between versions I was using a 'known issues' section which would list the issues with the current version available at the time, but now I've nailed it down to just the final remaining issue in version #4, which was a repeat of a Heather saying "Ok, Ok, OK" during the scene with the bundle of sticks. It was about 3-4 seconds worth of footage which would repeat. That issue has been corrected in version #5, it wasn't very obvious at the time, and the other people who I've had watch each version of the edit several times did not report back on it either. I didn't even know it was there myself lol, I had a Redditor point it out. Good guy.

So versions #1-4 it was mostly just fixing repeated scenes where I had missed them, as it was an absolute load of scenes I had to manage and edit back in, it was rather hard to proof watch the entire three hour cut every time. That's why doing public releases was so helpful, really helped me nail down the issues from user feedback. There was also some issues with where I had placed scenes in the timeline and some small but annoying '1 frame' pop ups from where I had chopped a clip, but my editing software had still rendered 0.3 of a seconds worth of a frame at the end, which would reveal the bad frame... very annoying stuff lol.

With that said I think that version #5 'should' be the last release, there hasn't been anything else I've noticed or had people report back on. But if you guys spot something that isn't right please let me know! When I started this edit I wanted it to feel official, like a piece which was missing from the special features on the Second Sight release - something people could be proud of putting in their box set next to their existing physical media.
