Who here got to view the Amazon deleted scene back in 1999-2001? It has the reputation for being the rarest deleted scene of all the BWP deleted scenes. So If you were one of the lucky ones who got to view it, I'm curious as to your thoughts on the clip. For those who don't know, Artisan Pictures had teamed up with Amazon to create a special page for The Blair Witch Project back in 1999. This promotional page contained a 2 minute deleted scene you could stream. Link to the archived site: web.archive.org/web/19991013053254/http://amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/video/misc/blair-witch-footage.html/ref%3Dv_bw_hp_str1As noted on Reddit, since you had to stream it, downloading the clip wasn't an option, so screen capture was your best bet. Unfortunately for us, screen capture software was very primitive back then thus making the chances of someone recording it quite slim. But who knows. It took 18 years for Mike's confession to finally go up online so fingers crossed! Here's a description of the scene from a LostMediaWiki article:

RealPlayer? LOL I don't remember this. I probably saw it at some point.

I feel like it was also on the (now defunct?) Woods Movie web site back in the day, but Dan could confirm or deny. I know the poetry slam portion of the hotel room scene was.

Huh, that's interesting. I've searched the Woods Movie site up and down and couldn't find any deleted scenes outside of poetry slam and crybaby bridge. Can you remember what you had to do to view the scene? I've been on a quest to find the scene for as long as I can remember. If it is hidden somewhere on the site, we can time travel back to 2011 using the Wayback Machine and snag the clip. Woodsmovie.com web.archive.org/web/20110718081857/http://www.woodsmovie.com/

Dan would know (since he built the damn thing), but he's got a lot of projects going on right now so I don't know how often he's visiting these parts.

Hey there, ash99To my knowledge, nobody has seen that scene in nearly 20 years. It was on Amazon.com from 1999-2002 and you could only watch it by streaming it using RealPlayer, so downloading the clip wasn't possible. I fear we might never see it unless we get an extended cut of the film for the 25th anniversary. Hope this helps!

The Amazon deleted scene has finally seen the light of day in the form of an Entertainment Tonight report.

I upped that to my google drive and shared it here on this board. I had no idea I even had it and had skimmed through the full dvdr I had labeled as Blair Witch Megadisk. I didnt notice the scene and thought the whole thing was just a bunch of news reports and interviews. Turned out it was part of possibly the most wanted lost media there is. I was floored when I came back to the thread and saw someone saying they noticed a scene they had never seen and went back through the full disc to find it and noticed the scene seemed to match the description of the lost Amazon scene. By the time I connected the dots, it was uploaded all over the place.

I still can't believe the scene has come to light. I truly felt it would never return outside of an extended release by Lions Gate. A good day this is!
