I feel you. And to be honest, I feel like I have more in common with my atheist friends/wife than the people I pray next to. I take the small world approach I suppose. Going to mass makes me feel good, and I truly believe. But, I'm not stupid enough to think that I or the church know everything or have ever been right. The church has been terrible to children, women, and minorities. I have had a hard time reconciling that. But, being a part of it has brought some light to my life and given me a degree purpose. I don't condone a thing the church has done but I hope to use it to make things better for everyone regardless of who they are. I understand the disdain for the Catholic church. Just know, there are some good people here.
And I can assure you, I'm not being underhanded or trying to convert anyone. Like I said, I follow my own path, you follow yours. I respect those who follow their path and don't try to bully people into following their beliefs. Those people are assholes
