As you know the released soundtrack has a few songs missing. Disposable Teens - Marilyn Manson Streamlined - Sunshine (aka At the Drive-In) All or nothing - Julie Reeves Dirge - Death in Vegas I'm a doggy - Marvin Pontiac The Lord is my Shepherd - Diamanda Galas Forest Ranger - Plexi Haunted - Poe Yeah as I said, "a few..." -Disposable Teens plays during the opening credits -Streamlined plays after they picked up Kim -All or nothing plays inside the store -Dirge plays when they discover "a naked woman" swinging around a tree -I'm a doggy plays during the scene with Erica and Stephen -The Lord is my Shepherd plays after Kim leaves the store and we cut back to the house -Forest Ranger plays after the scene with the owl -Haunted plays....yeah you already knows when Here is my reason for this post (are you still awake?) Some songs that are on the released soundtrack doesn't appear anywhere in the movie, at least this is what I think. -Stick It Up by Slaves On Dope -Suicide is Painless by Marilyn Manson -Tommy (Don't Die) by Steaknife. Since I know there are other people on here that are big fans of this movie someone might have the answer for where these songs appear. Or maybe they are just added to the cd for filler.

You've given that way more thought than I have. Or care to. The extra tunes are filler I guess.

They were added as filler when they didn't need to be. The missing ones he posted above should have been included, but weren't.
Everyone in the United States who bought the DVD got Carter Burwell's film score on the opposite side of the disc (film score and soundtrack being two completely separate things, of course)

So, just to build on this nice little thread a bit, I watched Book of Shadows again today with the intent of getting a near-100% idea of the complete musical layout of the film from start to finish. This took... a little while. To my surprise, there are actually a lot of score pieces that we did not get on the CD side of the DVD release. Or they were alternate versions. Either way, we just didn't get them in CD format, or any way outside of the movie. There were also three score tracks listed that I just couldn't find in the movie. Maybe I just missed them or didn't recognize them while watching (I am pretty tired). There are some short score cues listed in here as well, and a scant few some may consider as part of the score that I simply didn't (like the little snippet of sound from the start of the film that plays until Heather screams). Anyway, here was my waste of time today...
01. Funny Farm (score) 02. Disposable Teens 03. Streamlined 04. All or Nothing 05. (Score segment not included - Unloading the van) 06. (Score segment not included - The Tree/Communing with Elly) 07. (Score segment not included - Camp setup scene) 08. Feel Alive 09. Goodbye Lament 10. Mind 11. Human 12. Old Enough 13. (Score segment not included - The two tour groups meet) 14. Feel Good Hit Of The Summer 15. Stream Dream (score) 16. Red Snow (score) 17. Wrong (score) 18. Still in the Hills (score) 19. Soul Auctioneer 20. Dirge 21. I'm A Doggy 22. Marked (score) 23. All or Nothing (a-freakin-gain. either they had a shitty country station there or Peggy really liked that track) 24. The Lord Is My Shepherd 25. Lie Down 26. (Score segment not included - Transition to next day) 27. (Score segment not included - The search for Erica. The begining of Beasts is used, but then it becomes something else) 28. Beasts (score) 29. (Score segment not included - Call from Cravens/Owl Crash) 30. Forest Ranger 31. (Score segment not included - Erica on the Bridge) 32. (Score segment not included - Stephen comforts Tristen. Not really sure if this could be considered a part of the score) 33. Dragula 34. (Score segment not included - Kim discovers the files. Plays over Dragula) 35. (Score segment not included - Cravens at the door) 36. (Score segment not included - Erica's body discovered) 37. Shadow Dance (score) 38. Hanging (score) 39. The Truth? (score) 40. Haunted 41. The Reckoning 42. PS 43. Arcarsenal
CANNOT FIND: Rock Wind Water (score) Barely (score) Rain (score)

Arcarsenal CANNOT FIND: Rock Wind Water (score) Barely (score) Rain (score) There's this trick you can do in an ancient version of VLC media player. It somehow eliminates some, not all of the dialogue and plays only music and background SFX on DVD's. This doesn't always work, but on BOS it does. About 70% of the dialogue can be made inaudible.

That'd be trippy listening to the whole thing without any dialogue. BoS is a very musical film. Complex layers goin' on in there.
..
The main segment of "Barely" is included in "The Truth?"
"Rain" is a different (and longer) rendition of "Stream Dream".
..
I was wondering why Burwell called Red Snow ... Red Snow. The shredded paper was white.. so why red? (things that make ya go hmm)

Why is "Barely" called "Barely"? I arranged all 13 score tunes into their film order as listed above. I kept Rock Water Wind as track #1, and put Stream Dream just before Rain, and Barely just before The Truth? ..

Wouldn't that be the score and not the soundtrack?

They're parts of the score that weren't included on the score release.
* oh, now I get your meaning. To us the soundtrack is everything musical in the movie. Score + soundtrack = Bliss, except most of the songs by different bands are horrible.

By the way, 13. (Score segment not included - The two tour groups meet) Not doable. It's only a few seconds, and Jeff's voice over is clearly audible.

'transition to next day' is from "Rock Water Wind". 'Camp setup' and 'Unloading the Van' are both from "Barely". The others seem to be original unto themselves. 'Erica on the Bridge', 'The Tree' and 'The Search' are really cool audio files. I renamed 'Erica on the Bridge' to 'Erica's Ghost'

Does anyone need the unreleased score track from Burwell called 'Dossiers'? It was only on the compilation called Pure Horror and can upload it if anyone needs it.

Here's the link, I'd added it to the main soundtrack's tracklisting on my iTunes, hence the cover art and track number matching that album. I do have to confess, I'm not actually too sure where it even appears in the movie, I've not watched it too many times because I'm not much of a fan and the soundtrack audio mixing in the film is so poor you'll sadly never notice Burwell's score most of the time. So I just threw it in at track 8. However I do enjoy Burwell's score a lot and wanted to include it within my playlist properly, hence the meta data I changed. www.mediafire.com/file/ndfyctd5jc95s3w/08+Dossiers.mp3/file

Thanks for uploading. About the poor audio mixing and not noticing Burwell's score - I raised the volume of the music specifically by 50% in my Artisan / Extended edits. I agree that you could barely hear it too, hopefully you noticed it more when watching the Artisan Edit.
