What would you add to the list? Besides TBWP of course. Which is a given. Curse me all you want, but if you removed the family-relation part and simply replaced it with, say, these kids' fascination with a creepy video shot in the woods, BW16 would be a failed remake of TBWP instead of just a failed 'sequel'. Speaking of failed remakes, I honestly did not find the Ghostbusters remake to be bad at all. It had a lot of funny moments and it felt like there was a good amount of thought put into the script (except the main bad guy... he coulda used some more work... which was a bummer). I found most of the flack for the film unjustified. Getting back to the point, though... Films I would hate to see remade (aside from some of those listed in the link above): The Crow (the main actor passed away (while filming, nonethelss), leave their movie alone) Drop Dead Fred (I cringe every time I see an article about Russell Brand, because I think the potential for a remake will be mentioned brought back from the dead. Again, the main actor has passed, leave their movie alone) Films I'm really glad were remade: The Fly Invasion of the Body Snatchers The Thing True Grit Man on FireSometimes I can be wrong in my fears: IT is a prime example. I hated even the thought of it being remade (not because it was the greatest thing ever, though it did stick to the material fairly well, but because I knew there was no way Tim Curry would reprise his iconic role). While I have yet to see the new film yet (sorry but dark scenes ruined by being filmed from a cam just piss me off and take me out of the element), I have heard nothing but good about it. I still highly doubt that SkarsgÄrd's Pennywise will outshine Curry's, but time will tell for me.

That actually sounds much better. The whole reason for they to go into the woods makes no sense whatsoever. James saw a video online. That he think is his sister. That went missing---20 YEARS AGO!!!

Oh, let me add Pet Sematary to the list... www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/stephen-kings-pet-sematary-taps-starry-eyes-directors-w510641what? Sonofa! I know, I know, it has been attempted many times years before and fell to pieces in one way or another, but still... Honestly, the movie was really good, likely because King penned the script. Sure, it didn't have the character development, Jud's wife nor some of the extra subplot growth and development, but it was damn good overall. Plus, trying to fit an entire book into a 90-minute time-span never works for the content's favor. If this is remade, I do hope they touch on something that I was sad was omitted from the movie: how the returned dead spoke in the novel. I mean, sure Gage says a few things, but in the novel they said some truly horrifying stuff about those who were still alive. They would tell them their sins and what others really thought of them, uncovered dark, buried secrets that nobody should know, etc. When Gage revealed to Jud that his deceased wife had cheated on him and laughed at him with all of his friends, it was insanely creepy and unsettling. I missed that in the movie because it made those who came back truly feel changed and unnatural to the world they once belonged to.

Oh, let me add Pet Sematary to the list... Yep. Sometimes dead is better. What could they possibly add? This one's already been done well. Leave it alone.

A reboot should never be considered unless it will be an improvement over the original. A film that was good the first time around should be left alone. Remake some CRAPPY movie and make it better. Or don't bother.

I think Deep Impact is a film that never needs remaking.

Deep throat somehow was the title for the second episode of season one of the xfiles.
