Not sure how I feel about this one. This was rumored to be a BW remake/reboot early on. Might still be one. Lionsgate is involved so who knows?

www.thewoods.movie/The site has a similar design to what Woods Movie had, what with the cursor spot lighting the dark background. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about the story, only the obvious from the trailer. In the trailer, there's a moment in which it looks like a cast member is jerked up from the ground by an unseen force, this was an idea pushed by Eduardo Sanchez in one of the behind the scenes videos we got. If not a Blair Witch movie, there's definitely some coincidences here and there. The movie looks like a very by-the-numbers horror, though, not very interesting. I'll probably see it out of curiosity though.

I saw this shot from the trailer on the movie's official Instagram page where it looks like a tree is grabbing the character: http://instagram.com/p/BGcN5UdQbs9 I couldn't help but think of the moment in Curse of the Blair Witch when the passage from "The Blair Witch Cult" was being read aloud. I believe it said something like "she controlled the animals of the forest. Even the trees seemed to do her bidding." It would be interesting if this moment was a play on that idea. Unfortunately I've always heard "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." I'll be shocked if/when we get a 3rd Blair Witch movie. If this is it, I'll be thrilled. But I'm a natural born pessimist so I don't think it is. I guess we'll have to wait and see. |

On Instagram a long time ago i saw some film independent film studio posting about a BW3. They said it was called Black Hills or something. I cant find the ig now but I'll search for it. They said it was coming out in 2017. I doubt its legit though, i dont think they were related to Lionsgate.

Lionsgate would have to be involved for this to be legit. They own the name and the stickman image. We'll see.

And that's not even all. Someone on IMDB apparently did a frame by frame analysis of the trailer and lightened the image a little. You can see a lot more stick figures behind a girl who is screaming. If these pictures are real and not photoshopped then all doubt is gone. I'll have to watch the trailer again later and confirm it: Anyways, here it is: imgur.com/a/X8zED |

Okay, so I watched the trailer and indeed those other stick figures can be seen. This movie is, without a doubt, somehow connected to The Blair Witch Project. I just don't know how.

The first screening is tomorrow (22nd July) at Comic Con in San Diego so the BW connection will be clarified. I still want to go into this film without knowing too much.
