My opinion on this has not changed. I hope it bombs. I will not spend a single dollar on this. Nope. This did not need to be made. It's a reboot and not a sequel. The original characters don't exist in this. I suppose I will see it (for free) eventually just out of mild curiosity on how bad it is. Burn in Hell, new Ghostbusters!  Curse you!!!! |

If you haven't guessed my the avatar LMAO I am a huge GB fan. Take my nerdom of BW and multiply it by infinity. That being said... I enjoyed it. Do not get me wrong I understand that hate and the worry this filmed has caused, and I am not here to change your mind, just to add onto this. I have seen it three times and I will say a few things. As far as the trailers go, whoever edited those is a schmuck. Those trailers DO NOT represent the film in the correct way, good OR bad. This film is also not to be compared to the originals. That first movie is a classic, end of story. Won't even come close to it...I will say this... As a whole, this movie is a positive step to revitalize the franchise. It isn't for everybody. McCarthy does not play the same kind of roll she is known to play and is actually the straight roll in this. Kristen has her moments, but I felt was the only uneven one in the whole cast. After the first 20 minutes, her and the rest of the film pick up and do not stop until the end. McKinnon is A MAZ ING. She almost steals the show on her own. Man or woman, if you are not crushing on her in some small way after the end I would be surprised. The trailers paint the Leslie Jones roll in a TERRIBLE, borderlined racist light, and her character isn't that AT ALL. Much more to her in the movie. Helmsworth is the other show stealer in this, and to say anything else would give the game away. The supporting cast, including the fantastically done cameos are great. Also a nice nod/tease after the credits of the original and future of the universe. I have my theories on why I DO THINK this is a secret sequel but I can't give out that until you see it (or don't in which case I will keep it to myself) This movie was not disrespectful AT ALL to the Ghostbusters. It was almost like Marvel meets The Real Ghostbusters. Quite simply, it is good fun. It isn't the most amazing movie EVER MADE, but it is just good fun. You will have fun if you give it a chance (NO BOOTLEGS  ) Just my two cents  From this GB nerd. |

Well I've seen it now. Bootleg copy. It was better than the trailer suggested. Whoever cut that trailer together needs to be shot. Is it as good as the original? No. Not hardly. In my view it's on par with GB2. If I had never seen the original I'm sure I would like this. But it's impossible not to compare them. And this one comes up short IMO. I don't agree with the reboot route. Sequel would have worked better. The old Busters passing the torch to the new. And no, I'm not knocking the film because it has all female leads. The script was weak. The actors did the best they could with what they had. No fault there.

I went into this with zero expectations and really enjoyed it, after the first twenty minutes at least that I thought did nothing to suck me in. I digged the action sequences and cartoony effects plus Kate McKinnons character was the best thing there.

The Extended, just like movies that get an extended version recently, should have just been released. IMO. I loved it, except the dancing scene back in. It was MEH. The rest is just better.
