Showtime has renewed Penny Dreadful for a third season. Yay!
Looks like the good doctor gave Lily the Abby Normal brain. Now he's got two killer creatures on his hands. What to do...
Next week. Looks like another good one. I'm glad to see more Sembene this season too.

Victor better run and hide somewhere. He's got two monsters out to kill him now. If Ethan doesn't shoot him first when he sees what's become of Brona. Sir Malcolm gets himself captured. Pretty easily I might add. So the scorpion and the wolf will have to return and rescue him. Still wondering how they are going to work Dorian into the main plotline. The portrait reveal was too soon. I wanted to see it but not this early on. Not showing it made you have to imagine what it looked like. I had something much creepier in my head. It was cool that it moved though. Nice touch.
There is more to Sembene than meets the eye. At times he seems the smartest man in the room. We don't know his backstory yet. That should be a good episode! Season three maybe?

The portrait was different than in the movie.
The movie shows Dorian's origin story that Penny doesn't.
Also shows his ending around 1920 or so.
Filled with regret for his transgressions..

I've been reading the original Dorian Gray story by Oscar Wilde. Haven't finished it yet. From what I gather the painting reflects his sins. When the painting is destroyed in the story, he dies. Haven't seen the movie.

This should be a good one. I'm pretty sure I saw a flash of Ethan in beast mode. Vanessa finds the creepy doll room. And did I see dead Proteus? Dorian better be careful. I'm not sure his magic painting can keep him from being killed.

This episode was actually a bit weak, except for the opening tag team fight. KICK STAB KICK STAB KICK STAB-STAB-STAB! The Lily/Dorian thing is already boring me. Worst battle plan EVAH! Last week Malcolm goes in alone, this week Vanessa does the same thing. Causing the rest of the gang to go after her, AT NIGHT, under a FULL MOON. What could go wrong with that?  Sembene was right and nobody listened. Then he ended up a Scooby Snack. Killed him off just when he was getting interesting. BOOOOOOOO!!!!! Another thing. Why are Mamma Witch and Ms Ives just walking around Witch Castle chatting? Aren't they all there to KILL her? Creepy doll opens its eyes and speaks. Yawn. Here's a cool thing. In the doll room, I'm pretty sure I saw a MUMMY DOLL. That's right. Another classic monster in Season 3 perhaps? And where are Jekyll and Hyde? |

He just bugs me. I don't like his acting, he's always doing weird things like sighing all the time and I don't know ... he's just a dork. Gunslinger weirdo and Mr Wolfman without getting bit by a wolf. Just another Dorian lover.
The writing is not very good but I still watch the show just because it's different. Sorry.
