Just watched our movie again last night. Once again got me thinking about this.
How do we know for a fact that the house in the end of the movie was really Rustin Parr's house? We know the citizens of Burkittsville burned it to the ground in 1941. We know the footage was found buried in the undisturbed soil of an old house's foundation. That foundation was never said to be the ruins of Rustin Parr either ..
So, why does everyone insist it was the supernatural return of Parr's house? Couldn't it have just been some old abandoned house?

Then why were Transitus Fluvii and Futhark, along with children's bloody handprints on the walls?
Also, the house ruins are surrounded by forest. It's likely that any evidence of it being Rustin Parr's house was destroyed (outside of the footage) and thus forgotten about through the generations. I guess it's meant to be partially ambiguous.

I meant that it could have just been another old house being used for evil. Also, when Parr's house was burned down, it was still being lived in, so it wouldn't be in that state of decay.
Well, if it was the supernatural return of Parr's house, then there is really only one explanation: after being burned down the place decayed in the nether world.

Taking this straight out of Vol 1: Rustin Parr, the house was burned but it still exists in a burnt out state in a time loop in the nether world. That's why when Doc Holliday goes there after transporting herself to the nether world it's burnt out and dilapidated and Mike and Heather are also there.

The games aren't canon.

I don't think anyone involved in the series has come out and said that about the games, dossiers, or novels, so until that happens a canon just doesn't really exist because it's too open to peoples personal likes and dislikes.
