Theorectically, if there were to be a third film, what would you like to see? A direct continuation of the first film? A new story set in the same locations? Another found footage trip through the woods with new characters? A prequel perhaps? The Rustin Parr story or perhaps Elly herself? A period piece set in Blair? Should it be shot in 3D?
And what should it be called? Blair Witch 3 sounds a bit lame. I wouldn't have BW in the title at all.

I liked the Trial Of Elly Kedward idea, and i think it's an idea where you would have somewhere to go from for more sequels (the Rustin Parr incident, a modern day incident, anywhere really). Also being the start of it all you wouldn't have to worry about the uninitiated audience, you could basically ignore the other two movies if you wanted and have it stand alone. Of course this is all coming from someone who thinks BW2 is better than TBWP, so that might render my opinion null and void to some

My idea continues where the first one left off. Heather's cousin enlists the help of a Ghost Hunters type reality show as well as a psychic medium and they journey into the woods equipped with cameras in an attempt to find out what happened to Heather, Josh, and Mike once and for all. While there, strange events occur as they all begin to realize they're closer to the evil forces than they ever thought they would be before. This would stay true to the found footage style of the first movie.

I would love the idea of furthering the concept of The Trial of Elly Kedward, although I don't think that story would be entirely marketable or successful.
I think the idea of Heather or Josh's family member going into the woods with ghost hunters and a psychic could work out extremely well.

One of you is close to something but far off. Oh? You appear to know something we don't. Care to share? Or at least give less vague hints?

Rule number 1 of these forums. Anarchist will always be teasing about Blair Witch 3 and what it could've been. Although he swore to Dan he'd never give it all away, he finds it funny to continuously tease about it, leaving us all to put the pieces together and tear our hair out.

One thing that I think works really well in both bw movies is that it is real, based on real events etc. and the tie-ins make it larger than life in a way and blows my mind. Think about this: Dan and Ed pitch their take on bw3 to Lions gate, they loved it and gives green light for it to happen. Dan and Ed announces to the press that is is going to be shot similar to District 9 or Seventh Moon, and they go into the woods on location to shot this. But things go wrong and the studio have to abort the filming due to the cast and crew being lost in the woods and no one can find them. Then someone is found and he/she has all the footage (alternative: they only find the footage) and that footage becomes blair witch 3, what happened to the cast and crew of bw3. And ofcourse everything is just PR but it could be fun, having the virtual marketing being Ed and Dan sending something that they shot on their phone while they're "lost in the woods" screaming like bitches before the battery goes dead....or something like that

A prequel or direct sequel - either would be fine. But no more shaky cam. Trying to re-create the original would not be good.

Another shakey cam found footage trip through the woods with new characters? My idea continues where the first one left off. This would stay true to the found footage style of the first movie. I think the idea of Heather or Josh's family member going into the woods with ghost hunters and a psychic could work out extremely well. Blair was a new, exciting idea with a dedicated team behind it. They actually put in the work to make an interesting fiction. Now that technology permits it, studios and ordinary people are churning out found footage film as if there was a factory for them. It's just been done to death. I like the idea of Elly's life story in a period piece. Leading up to her accusation and trial. Perhaps it could be explained as to why she makes herself known every 40 to 50 years. Her apparition's influence could be shown to the audience in small segments. Drowning Eileen Treacle. Leading Robin Weaver. Possessing Rustin Parr (or Kyle Brody). And of course, haunting Heather, Mike and Josh. Oh, god. NO. Putting 3D next to your title is practically saying "There's no substance here, just flash." Case and point, Silent Hill Revelations.
