The fourth installment will be released on the 19th October over here in the UK, and judging by the small 13 second teaser that was released today, it will follow in the footsteps of Paranormal Activity 2 and take place directly after. Looking forward to this. Full trailer will be released the 1st August. Here's the teaser for the trailer :- More news when I get it. www.imdb.com/title/tt2109184/

These films are known to have things in the trailer that do not appear in the movie. PA has indeed become the new Saw. And that's not a good thing.
PA is a one-trick pony. And I've seen the trick three times. Not sure I will pay to see it a 4th time.

Even though the majority of the footage that is seen in the trailer may not be seen in the final version, it still gives us an outline of the plot, but doesn't give us too much. So it keeps us guessing. It's obvious that they're pretty much turning this into the new Saw, as they know that it doesn't matter how many PA's they bring out, they WILL do great in the box office. I love seeing these films in the cinema, and everytime I do a hell of a lot of people are scared, so they do the job. I believe it's a great Halloween movie nonetheless.

Seen the trailer. Still not convinced. Will wait for the dvd. PA4, starring Katie and Hunter as the demonic tag team of DOOM! Watch them terrorize a random family for no reason whatsoever! Oh what fun!
That triangle 'coven' symbol is back. It's in the teaser, the trailer, and the 'what really happened' clip that is on YouTube. Wish there was a synopsis posted somewhere. We don't know when 4 takes place. Is it a direct sequel to 3? Or are they showing K and H just to mess with us? ARRGG. We don't even know if Hunter is in this. We just see a little kid. Could be anybody really.

Here's the newly released trailer for all those interested :- Looking forward to see this, it looks as if Katie and Hunter have moved into a new house, and the next door neighbors (Alex) are experiencing strange happenings due to this. It also looks to be pretty much a continuation of Paranormal Activity 2.

I've been looking for the meaning of the triangle-circle symbol in the trailer. It was also seen in PA3. Apparently it is used in black magick during spirit/demon conjuring to contain the entity so that it does not harm the summoner. Looks very much like this:

Wow, that does seem mighty interested. It looks as if they describe that symbol a little bit and use it throughout the film, it may add a little depth to the plot. Which is what the movies need!

I'm not saying I won't watch it eventually. But the formula is getting stale. It has that "been there done that" thing. Perhaps they should drop the found footage thing and just film it normally? And this should be the LAST one. Tie up all the loose ends and finish the story off.

The series is obviously becoming a new franchise. As long as there's money to be made, there will be more PA films in the pipeline. I mean, look at how many Saw's there were. I'm expecting another 2/3 film. At least. With some sort of reboot of the series a few years after the 'last one'.

Can't wait for this, although I wonder how much longer they'll keep this up. PA5 is apparently already confirmed.

That doesn't surprise me, October 2013 release for PA5 then? We may aswell confirm PA6 for them. And 7, and 8. They will be made as long as they keep on making money at the box-office/DVD sales.
I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad thing yet. We'll just have to see how quickly this formula becomes tired.

Well, fans of the series will keep coming back to watch more and every movie has had positive reviews so far. If PA4 does as well as the previous movies, I see no reason to stop.

Exactly! I am a fan of the series, but I can understand why people will get bored of it very, very quickly.
I believe that Paranormal Activity 3 was a step in the right direction for people who aren't really a fan of these type of films. It was easily the best of the series so far. The story was strong, and so were the characters and the scares. It's great to know that the directors of the 3rd film are coming back for the 4th. So I fully expect that PA4 will be as good, if not even better than the third.

The early reviews have not been good. Think I'll sit this one out and wait for the dvd.

Yeah, I've also heard some pretty average reviews towards the film aswell. Apparently it just doesn't build on the mythology that was set by the previous films at all; Which is a disappointing.
I'll be watching it on release day nonetheless. As tickets are only £3.50 each on Wednesday. Wouldn't pay full price to watch it mind, especially if it doesn't bring anything new to the series!

I managed to see PA4 on the opening day, and I must say that I was deeply disappointed with it. There wasn't enough scares/story to keep me interested. The fact that I saw this on the day it was released with only 10 other people in the cinema with me really does sum this over-tired series up. It was 2 for 1 tickets aswell.
Really can't see myself watching any of the future installments at the cinema anymore. It just isn't worth it.

Sad to hear all the lukewarm reviews. Critic's seemed to hate it. Still going to see it on Halloween though, hope it isn't as bad as I'm expecting.

I've read all the spoilers now so I really don't have to see it. Meh.

That's a good way of saving some cash. It really isn't worth the admission fee. The series has just dried up. They should've stuck with the first 3, and then ended it there. Even if it did leave some questions unanswered, at least we'd have a trilogy of good films.

Yup, downloading it might be your best option if you just want to give the film a try, but it doesn't really give the full effect as the film is very sound dependent, and depending on what copy you've downloaded, it might not have the best audio.
I'd imagine the DVD will be out fairly soon mind ...

I suppose we better start the Paranormal Activity 5 topic pretty soon ... Unless we should just give it a rest?
