I'm actually really excited about this. I've been following Production for quite a months now, and after reading up a few things on IMDB, it really does look like this is the type of film horror needs right now. A quirky, clever, scary horror with A LOT of twists.
You shall find me at the cinema on the 13th April.

If you want it on your hard drive, then yes.
If you just want to view it once, then go to YouTube or Google or somewhere.
I wish it was 1999 forever.

For all those interested, here is the trailer for The Cabin In The Woods. Really looking forward to this, looks like it's getting all the cliche horror movie moments together and adding a hell of a lot of twists! Not long until release now.

'99 was a very strange year for me.
Moved 230 miles away in May, found myself homeless in August, watched The Blair Witch Project in the theater, remember hearing on the radio while driving "SCARY AS HELL", moved into a nice little country apartment in September, found another job in October, bought my first DVD player and watched TBWP and The Mummy on it in November, was blown away by DVD quality picture.. got a D.U.I.I. in December ..
ahh ... 1999.

Just came back from watching The Cabin In The Woods, and wow, even though I knew a few of the spoilers, this really did surprise me. Some great twists throughout, the characters were great, a nice dosing of gore and jumpy moments. I can't talk about the plot as it would just give the whole film away, but it is so much more than your average 'students go in a Cabin in the woods for the weekend' storyline. Watching the trailer does give one MAJOR scene away, but apart from that, the film is so much better than the trailer makes out. GO AND SEE THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This is going to be the film to beat this year. My film of the year so far, much better than The Women In Black!

Yeah, it does have a few scary moments, and due to it being quite a complicated storyline, I doubt a 9 year old would understand the plot! Go and see it when you can.

This movie was intensely outrageous.
I loved it.

Sure was. Easily one of the cleverest and well written horror movies of the past decade. This could be the new Scream?

Just got back from seeing it. I was taught that if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything. So with that...

I actually only like Scream 1 & 2. I didn't read much about Cabin in the Woods before I saw it because I was lead to believe that it was full of clever surprises. It wasn't clever nor was it unpredictable. I was under the false assumption that it was a straight up horror film. Instead, what I got was a movie filled with every horror movie cliche, bad jokes, lack of atmosphere, style, predictability. Worst of all it was so outlandish that I laughed at it & not with it. I can't believe that film critics are giving this good reviews. Unrealistic horror films can be done well as proven by The Shinning, The Blair Witch Project, Halloween (1978), the Evil Dead & so on. Finding just one good one though is like finding a needle in hundereds of football stadium sized haystacks. I'll stick with realistic horror movies for a while I guess. Things that could actually happen are far more horrific than those that never would.

Just seen this and I think, its one of the best horror movies of the past few years. Definitely a good idea that was executed well. Wouldn't mind seeing more.

Totally agree with you, I remember reading that Joss -The Director- is not thinking of making a sequel as such, but more of a prequel. No doubt it'll be called Cabin In The Woods 2 though to get a bit of publicity.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Considering the movies conclusion, there couldn't be a sequel but I think a prequel could be a pretty cool concept which could go a few ways.

As long as it has Joss directing the sequel, and that it isn't rushed out into the cinema for easy cash, a prequel could be a very good idea!
Seeing 'Experiments' prior to the one we see in Cabin would be great.
