Geeez louise!! So many new members but the Catz got their tongues!! Not my tongue! Hi! I'm a new kid on this block - Burkittsville for a handle, but most folks call me Bill. I'm a Baltimore school teacher (history) and tech coordinator with a small web travel business on the side. I acquired Burkittsville.com a short while (2 weeks) ago and had decided to build a small site around the name. That prompted me to buy the BWP DVD. Now, I think I'm hooked. I have been to the town to take pictures and found that there is a certain allure to the woods on the west side of the town. There may or may not be a witch among those trees; but there certainly were many, many souls lost to the "bloodbath" called the Civil War. (Although, I don't believe there is anything "civil" about war.) Some may still be wandering, lost, amidst the trees. Don't mean to ramble - but, anyway, nice to be here...

Oh it's so nice to have you here Bill! Please do stay and you'll see how much fun we all have. I've been to the little town of Burkittsville too. I visited and filmed the cemetery mostly. A high school kid in black clothes came up to me and my friend and videotaped us for his school project. He asked us if Erica's portrayal of a wiccan was believable or not. He filmed us in the Burkittsville cemetery rambling about Erica and the Blair Witch. His mom stayed in the car outside the cemetery. We both looked at each other and smiled when he asked if he had our permission to videotape up and use the footage.

Hey Burkittsville Bill! ;D So far the cemetery pictures are great. It is eactly how I remember it. So peaceful being there. The really old and newer tombstones. So with barely visible names and dates...I wish I were laying in the grass there right now, with the sun and wind on my face. I can't wait to see more. Please add lots of pictures.

Thank you for the compliments, EllysOwl and LunaSea. I just may have to buy a larger hat.
I have more yet to add. I wll probably beef up the links section later this week and must remember to include a link to The Blair Witch Forum. ;D
I will revisit the town on a sunny day and get a few "postcard style" shots. But I am eager to find time to clean up and properly present what I already shot. The cloudy skies make for a somber mood - I want to bring out the "woods" in a better display. What you see so far is basically a camera dump put together by a gallery script in PhotoShop Elements.
I do want to include info and photos of the local Civil War battlefields; and [at least] a glossary of witch/witchcraft terminology.
Cheers...

Welcome to boodrow7773 & Burkittsville! I'm rather a "silent" member at times but I'm here! I've been around for quite sometime actually (all the way back to the original boards when BWP first came out). Burkittsville - Nice site! I'm exploring it now. I see you are a teacher in Baltimore. I am in the Baltimore area myself.
