I posted a pic i made on Deviantart. Its sorta "Blair-based" it uses the film as a...maybe youd call it a statement about the way our society looks at death. Its based on what ive been talking about here this past week. But I'm gonna test the waters at Deviantart to see if i get any positive or negative feedbacks. How does one post a pic on here anyways?

It's possible. All you have to do is... discover the secret.

Here's my artist commit, i even quoted CSpaulding's "Suspension of Disbelief" difinition "The ultimate goal of audible and visual communication systems. The point at which our brains are tricked into believing that what we are hearing and/or seeing is not a reproduction but is, in fact, really happening in our own physical space and time. When "The Blair Witch Project" first came out, alot of people thougt they were seeing real live deaths of the filmmakers and then when we found out it was only a movie, it still was a bit unsettling because you still went away feeling what you saw was real, even though the filmmakers are alive and well. Theres something about 'Blair Witch' and other films like it ("Quarantine"), where you see the entire film as stock footage where the camera is being held by the charecters (actors) adds a profound new level to realism. It made me wonder if there had ever been any live footages of real deaths (besides the JFK assassination which we seened over and over agian till we're desensitized to it). Not that i wanted to see any footage like that, but i wonder if it actauly happened, so i Googled. I looked at the results, and my eyes seemed to have locked on "American television news reporter who committed suicide during a live television broadcast." It was a story about Christine Chubbuck (pictured) who did just that. Her story was disturbingly depressing, but the most disturbing part...it happened on TV..live..on the local news on July 15, 1974 in Florida! Just imagine seeing that. And then i also an across the story of Pennsylvania treasuerer Bud Dwyer who did the same thing in January of 1987 in the middle of a press conferance. GEEZ! And that just makes me think, if we can be disturbed by a documentery style horror film and then when we really do see the real thing, we wouldnt recognize it." Like i said, i didnt mean to be contriversal, that was just basicly how i felt.

Just a little afterthought here. If i knew then (1999) what i know now about these stories like Chubbuck and Dwyer before i seen TBWP. Not to downplay the movie or nothing, because its still very scary and unsettling, but i probely wouldve said "People, people, we had a president gunned down before our very eyes(not to mention also his brother about 4 years later), we had a newscaster and state treasure blow their brains out on live TV, and we're disturbed by this movie that badly?"
