Simething that occured to me, while they were filming in the woods, did they encounter animals living in those woods, i mean if one just happened to show up, while filming, would it have been an inconvenience or could they have used it as another one of those "strange occurances". (like if a duck showed up, HAHA Python/Holy Grail joke there).

Probably. I'm not sure how they would work animal footage into the story.
Would it have been scarier if the tent was attacked by a bear instead of ghostly children?

I guess what i'm saying is, any animal like a dog couldve wondered on to the "set" (or where ever they were filming) and it wouldnt be that big of a deal, they couldve found away to incorporate that into the plot somehow, just like the dead rat. I figure at least there couldve been some birds, thats one of the little things that was creepy, in a way, because normaly in ANY woods there would be birds of some sort.

I took the lack of wildlife to show that the woods were cursed. That the animals sensed it somehow and were avoiding the area. The only thing they did see was dead (the mouse).
