is there anything that connects Parr and Elly? Did they fulfill similar roles to the woods by living in them? The mythology suggests a portal is opened by the placing of the stickmen nvr-givn, or whatever it was, so did Elly and Rustin tend, perhaps unwillingly, to the spirits over generations?
I can't help but feel that their proximity to the centre of the woods and their solitary dispositions unite them and it's more than just co-incidence. Was this ever part of the myth?
