[glow=purple,2,300]I have no clue because...well I really don't know what happened at all to all of these sotries concerning the Blair Witch and all but all I can say is it might be true. The story is true just...who did it is the question. It might have been her.[/glow]

I have that comic book. It's quite good. That's the version of the events that I believe. That she killed the search party with supernatural aid and returned home with no memory of it.

BlairDarkness, all of this is just something that someone wrote. It wasn't really written by the two guys responsible for all of this so I say that it is not part of the actual Blair Witch legend. Not in the original docea as such.

I think Robin Weaver killed the search party-Elly needed her hands to do it.

Makes sense. Elly (or whatever unspeakable force resides in those woods) usually works through others. She evidently possessed Parr and Brody. She also possessed the Blair Witch Hunt tour group.
Though, possession is not the only way that she/it can take victims. There didn't appear to be any possession involved in the murder of Eileen Treacle or the disappearance of Heather, Mike, and Josh - unless you buy those theories about one of them (usually Josh) killing the others.
Possession is a weapon of this evil force, but within the grounds of these woods, it has unspeakable power and I have no doubt that it can attack victims directly. Its frequent use of possession may simply because it is so systematically evil and sadistic that it sees fun in having one victim take the blame for the murders that it carries out.
There is also the theory that the strangeness in Burkittsville is somehow connected to the nearby military base, Fort Detrick, a major station for Project MK-ULTRA.
It makes sense that Weaver was possessed and used to commit the ritualistic murder at Coffin Rock. She has no strong alibi for the murders, and came back after the first search group had been murdered. She recalls being left in the basement for hours -- however, the Blair Witch Hunt tour group recalls events occurring differently than they actually did.
I think that the method of possession by the unspeakable force that moves throughout the woods is induced hallucination. While you are under this force's control, you are completely unaware of it and are consciously in a massive, induced dream that you may be sharing with other possession victims (exactly what happened in Blair Witch 2, I believe).
