No I don't buy it. I think it was the second search party. The first search party got lost, like our three buddies in TBWP. The second search party got possessed like our five buddies in BOS and killed the first search party. Then, they hid the bodies and came back to their sense not remembering what they did. But you know, they didn't have video equipment back then like in BOS. ;D

i think it is too easy to pick on Eileen after the Keyle Brody thing - i think it would be fairly impossible for a little girl to capture and tie up a search party - forgetting any possesion theory as these never seem to pan out and possession is not found reported in the mythology.
I think it is more likely to have been a case of the bodies were never there to start with - the witch was playing with their heads (like the reality-twists in BW2)

I think that maybe the Blair witch possessed the search party or put them in kind of a trance so that Robin could tie them up and kill them under the witches instructions. That way their was no major struggle.

my apologies to everyone on the board for not being more precise in the question i recently posted........i know the movie and the websites made about the movie were all made up that much is clear.however long before the movie was made and talk about the blair witch started,it is a fact that some college students from Maryland went into the woods in Burkitsville to document some stories about a legendary witch.a massive search conducted by the state of Maryland went underway when they were reported missing and never returned and are still missing to this very day.some video tape footage was found a year later documenting the students activities and yes they believed something SUPERNATURAL was following them.a lot of people thought the movie THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT was going to show the actual footage the students shot.however these were not the same students that were shown in the film nor were their real names ever revealed when the film and the book by DA STERN based upon the movie came out.i will be happy to show the links i found on you tube and google that are quits stunning to say the least that verify everything i just brought up.i will post these on here when i return provided they have not been taken down.

I think I've seen the Split Screen episode you are talking about. The character names are different, right? That was put together before the film was shot for promotional use to show to potential investors. Like a short version of Curse. Intended to give a general idea of what the film would be about.

thanks for your input but the episode i seen which is number 10 seemed to take this VERY seriosly plus the other link on the web was from someone who participated in that search for the missing students FOR REAL. go check them both out and you can see that something very strange went on that caused a coverup to take place after the movie came out.especially after all the vandalism that occured in burkitsville which is not surprising.

I just looked at it again. That is the Split Screen episode that I meant. The film hadn't been shot yet and they didn't have the actors that would eventually be in it. This was a promotional thing made when the movie was still in production. Still pretty cool to watch. Most of the ideas in this made it into the film.
