Man, been raining outside most of the day (and I've traveled a fair bit, too. 120 miles. rained all the way). When I can hear the rain hitting the patio outside like this, it always makes me want to watch The Return of the Living Dead. "It's coming down like ein betrunkener soldat"

Nobody else wants to vote anymore. Well it was fun while it lasted I guess. Tristen won both times.

Tried it in chrome? I know it is a resource hog of a browser, but no problems downloading large files for me with it.

Why isn't this one good enough? Oh, no, this version certainly is good enough, but... if I can find the 1080p version, why not upgrade? Never hurts to keep looking. (I may be a bit of a datahoarder/collector).

I guess no pepsi or poopcorn for Tweek. I always bring my own drink and snacks. They don't even care at the theater I go to, cause they see us walk in with it and don't bat an eye.

It's the same copy you have. A web rip. It says 711 x 400 Ah, okay, thank you. Went to the image itself to check dimensions and had hoped it was, perhaps, a blown up image from the 1080 source. The search continues.

So used to esrever being there that I didn't even notice when they weren't there. I hear ya; whole reason I made this thread, haha. What is the resolution for your version? That screenshot looks like it would be an upgrade.

So please up to mega.nz ? Of course. It is the least I can do considering all you have done around here. Link has been endited into the first post. Edit: Also found out the original location and file name via the file properties (total idiot moment where I somehow didn't think of that before): RARBG.COM - Book.of.Shadows.Blair.Witch.2.2000.WEBRip.x264-RARBG

The Wolfman (2010) Yeah it's cheesy. But in a good way. I concur; always liked that movie. Though my favorite werewolf films will always be An American Werewolf in London, Ginger Snaps and (on the cheesy side) Bad Moon. Speaking of werewolf films, I need to watch WolfCop at some point.

Ah, I guess that would explain it. Thanks Tweek. "Or" is still on Erica's rug pattern in my cut. Yes, just realized I was looking for it in the wrong segment of that scene (I was trying to eye it just before Kim came in, for some reason). The version I have I downloaded a while ago. Unfortunately I changed the file name so I am not sure which one it was exactly, but I do think it was a webrip... so possibly from Amazon Video?

So, I was watching a supposedly upscaled quality version of BoS (and I will admit that it looked really good, probably the best I have ever seen it) and I noticed something: none of the word visuals (seek me no further or) were anywhere to be found in the version I watched. It wasn't as if they were edited out, but rather that they were not edited in. Of course, I didn't notice this right away, as it took a viewing of ghostprints' edit to make me realize what wasn't there anymore (though only two of those scenes seem to be in that edit as well, with two others removed and the third ('or' in the rug) simply not edited in). After I realized what wasn't there, though, I switched back to the other version, watched those scenes and went over them with a fine-tooth comb (cue Spaceballs scene: 'We aint found s--t!'). There was no 'seek' in the fire, no 'me' in the grass, 'Treacle' stayed on the tombstone through the entirety of the scenes... you get the drift. Kinda makes me feel like the nicer looking version is somewhat incomplete... Edit: Found out it was the theatrical version. For anyone interested in owning this version as well...

Closely watching viewers weren't supposed to look up a rune chart. We were just supposed to go "oh freaky! They all got marked with those foundation symbols #_& !!" Exactly. I will say though, that some of the negative definitions I have found for reversed runes are interesting (but broad enough to basically apply to any situation, so everyone feels like they can relate, just like astrology). Take Thorn for example. Reversed it could mean danger, defenselessness, compulsion, betrayal, dullness, evil, malice, hatred, torment, spite, lies. A bad man or woman. (And who's to say that a forward facing run for our protagonists isn't a backwards facing one for the evil?)

Got in three movies last week and I failed every time (yes, I watch a lot of horror)...
The Monster Project Another found-footage type movie. The characters all felt flat and it made it extrememly hard to care if they lived or died when they found themselves up against monsters, all locked in an old mansion with a dark history. There was a twist at the end that I didnt see coming, but it wasn't impactful in any way whatsoever, so I ended up not caring about even that. Overall, the story was pulled in too many directions at once for a 100-minute movie and, while trying to work in everything, the film made nothing work at all.
Leatherface (2017) The story is so thin I wouldn't even use it as a tissue to blow my nose with. Seriously, this feels like redneck/hillbilly stereotypes that filled 60 minutes between a 20-minute collection bad TCM scenes. Origin stories can be interesting, but they have to feel like they're focused on the title character. Leatherface, despite the name, does not feel like that at all. It doesn't do anything for the series, either.
The House on Willow Street The first 40 minutes were intriguing and they had my attention, but after that it really felt like the story just fell apart and became cliche and predicable. The acting followed the same pattern.

Come to think of it we should be asking ourselves beyond the greater Theory of Everything .. why did everyone end up marked with any markings anyway? Like I said, I just feel like they were lazily thrown in there with no true rhyme or reason. I never really bought Erica's excuse for the rune markings in the movie (touched by a witch) and have always preferred the first draft script use of markings instead. Not sure if you have read it or not, but instead of runes, the group finds that long, spidery lines of red start to appear on their skin. As times goes on, these marking become more distinct. Some are the shapes of small, child-like hands all over their body (like Jeff experiences in the film) and then there are the red marks on their necks, which look exactly like rope burns you would find on a hanged person. They were being marked just as Elly was before she died.

Then it's the ancient forest evil that's possessing an owl as well as our Blair Witch-Hunt group. Simply toying with them while using the Blair Witch Legend. Taking away their memories, making them kill people without remembering. I like that idea better. It's simpler. But it doesn't match up with 'the children will again walk free' hmm .. just had a thought.. if taken metaphorically rather than literally it could be seen as the forest evil using a style of haunting - using the bad children, enjoying the outcome of all their cruelty and hatred. Yes, we are very much walking along the same line of thought on this. The events with Elly and the aftermath are likely the best (or worst, depending on your viewpoint) thing to happen to it if it enjoys tormenting things. There is now a legend, a draw, to the place and people will freely enter just to see if they actually stack up... and some of them will fall prey to the evil. Best of all, everyone suspects it is Elly's vengeful spirit haunting the woods, so no one ever attempts to take different steps to avoid/remove the evil. Like Erica said after they all got a nano-second glimpse of the new Black Hills murders, "Great American pastime - blame it on a witch." While I'm not a huge fan of the possession idea overall (evil altering reality around our protagonists is still my preferred theory), I fully admit that when you mix all these theories together, it does hold strong ground that can make sense when not a whole hell of a lot else does. But the tape showing them hanging Tristen really happened that way, they just don't remember it like that. In their memories it was more of an accident that Tristen hopped off the ledge. In both scenarios it is Stephen who pushes her off the ledge. It's just that in one she is taunting him to do it while while accusing him of being a coward and in the other she is begging for her life, pleading for him not to do it. Totally random side-note, but I always snort out a laugh when Tristen says 'will' backwards as 'Lee' and 'the' as 'eight'. I get it, it's hard to try to figure out how to pronounce 'lliw' (perhaps 'Lou?') and 'eht', but damn!

So anyway, what's your take on "seek me no further or the children will again walk free"? I ask because that's what my little theory is based upon. It was a warning, obviously, but the meaning can change depending on if you view it as a threatening warning or a pleading warning. From your perspective I would view it as a pleading warning, one where Elly is begging the tourists to not seek her out because it will wake the children as well (I'm not entirely sure how that can be considering the children vanished after Elly's death and it is usually considered her taking revenge on them after they ultimately caused her demise). I took it as a threatening warning, considering what the children had already done to Elly, releasing them as spirits upon those who seek the evil would have dire consequences. I don't think Elly is the main antagonist in this film, but rather a very old, formless evil that considered the forest its own and would toy with anything within it. During the final confrontation with Tristen, Jeff accuses her of being the witch and she takes a moment to look at him before mocking him and asking, "Is that what you think, crazy boy?" Take that for what you will, but I see it as a clear indication that it finds humor in Jeff's false assumption and is goading him further with its reply, as if to say, "You don't have any idea what you're really dealing with." As far as widdershins/wittershins goes, I am just going with the popular spelling. Tristen takes on the role of Elly Kedward while the other three become "just like the bad little boys pathetic little children of Blair Village. So afraid, so afraid" And then they become tormenting and murderous. Interestingly enough, that would still hold true even if the evil is not Elly, as it could have observed the children as they were tormenting the woman and came to that conclusion. Our protagonists, just like the vile children of Blair, are too afraid to understand what is really going on, what they are up against.

Poor Eliza Dushku never really made it far in Hollywood after her stint as Faith ended on BtVS and Angel. Though, I will admit that I actually really liked her other show, Tru Calling, while it lasted. Have yet to devote a chunk of time to watching Dollhouse. Donnie Darko: Director's Cut This one has always been a favorite, and I never really felt the need to watch the DC because I was slightly nervous the film would lose something in the process of being extended. I was wrong (and wrong to wait so long). I'm usually not too wowed by DC, honestly, as they don't change much overall, but Donnie Darko feels like a much more coherent story with all the extra scenes in place. I really liked how transitions from chapter to chapter took place with an overlay of pages from the Philosophy of Time Travel.
