How do we account for the differences in the house in the new film and the one in the original? Is it supposed to be the same house? The BW house has furniture. And doors. Could James and Lisa be in an "earlier" version of the house?

I think the explanation is she makes the house appear as she needs to for each encounter. I guess thats the going story for an instory sort of explanation

That makes sense. The house is supernatural anyway (the real one burned) and can appear however Elly wants. Or not at all.
Wonder what became of the house set once filming was done. Do they destroy them or keep them stored somewhere? I've already watched the house walkthrough on the blu-ray and that would be a cool thing to actually see. The facade looked pretty sweet too, in the daylight where you could get a good look at it.

yeah i'd love to have seen that. I think they tore it down, i think Adam stated the last night they used it the crew was literally waiting there to tear it down.
I would have loved to grab the wall from the basement
