In the new film James sees what he believes to be Heather moving past an upstairs window. In BWP Heather moves her camera past an upstairs window and we see a momentary red dot. Although the infamous red dot was likely some type of artifact or unintended glimpse of crew equipment, I like the idea that Wingard could've deliberately blocked out the scene to work as an easter egg. The positioning of James and Lisa at the bottom left of the window (from inside) more or less matches up. The lack of rain kind of kills this theory, but I guess it could be chalked up to the Witch's(?) manipulation of time/space/sound. Obviously it's reaching but it's still a fun observation.

As long as time rules are out the window, what if James really was seeing Heather from 20 years ago? Past and present overlapping?

the room Heather was in in BWP was on the ground floor so it couldn't be plus James didn't have a red light on him...
