Okay I've seen the movie and I saw it through and through, but what really happens at the end of the movie?

Okay I've seen the movie and I saw it through and through, but what really happens at the end of the movie? They basically left it up to your imagination. However, I think it's safe to assume that Heather and Mike were probably both killed.

I really wouldn't assume that if I were you...

The evidence does not support that theory. Missing does not equal dead. No bodies found, remember?

They're not dead. Just stuck in temporal limbo like spock was in star trek '09.

BW2 trampled on the established mythology. More of a spin-off than a true sequel.

There are many interpretations of what happened in the movie. The most popular one is that the Blair Witch sent Heather, Josh, and Mike back in time to the 1940s, where they were murdered by Rustin Parr (who is the person who killed 7 kids, in case you forgot).
But, I came up with an interpretation of my own. I think there may have been a cult who worshipped the Blair Witch and lived in the woods, so decided to terrorize anyone who may have lived there. This cult could have been so obsessed, that they actually went to the trouble of rebuilding Rustin Parr's house after it burned down. The cult members probably also had children, which would explain the children's voices and handprints on the wall. It may not be right, but I think it is still an interesting theory to think about.

That's pretty far fetched isn't it? Anarchist is right.

I guess it is a little far fetched, considering that the house was no longer standing once they found the tapes. And I'm not sure a cult would go to all that trouble to build a house if they were just going to tear it down immediately afterwards, so you might be right.

Mike's standing-in-the-corner thing at the end references the Rustin Parr info we got early in the film. If it's Parr's house, then either they time-travelled into the past or they were in an alternate universe (ala Fringe) where the house is still standing. Doesn't explain who or what attacked them in the basement. Parr? Josh? Someone else? Some THING else?

It always seemed to me as though the ending was supposed to be ambiguous. Like a majority of the movie (scare-wise) you never see or know what's really going on. Whatever you come up with in your imagination is going to be wayyyy more frightening than anything anyone else could possibly create.

I don't really agree with the whole time travel theory, but I do believe that the Blair Witch herself lured Mike and Heather into Parr's house and then killed (the prior night, she did torture Josh to death).
Also, if the house had originally been torn down (though I don't recall them ever mentioning that in the movie), I would then theorize that the Blair Witch used her magic powers to re-establish it and then magically did away with it when she was done with it.
