It most certainly is not awesome.
On startup today my system wouldn't boot because I had some foreign hardware device attached. No such thing existed. So the auto repair system couldn't figure it out either. And wouldn't even search for help from MS. As if that woulda helped. And when I restarted it said I recovered from a bad shutdown. This is hardly my first trouble with vista.
When I first got my new system I display problems of all kinds and nothing worked right. With updates most seemed to go away. But I can't recall ever having a single problem when I used XP.
BTW, I am getting a degree in PC repair, but when you're as poor as I am, losing a $1000 system is like losing a child so I almost crapped myself.
So believe those Mac ads you see...

I've been using Vista for about 8 months now & haven't had any major problems. Just a few little things that are an inconvience. The look of Vista is awesome but XP is definitely better.

I have Windows Vista. It came with my new Vaio. It works very nicely with Ipod. It actually works. No major problems so far. I did want to ask if anyone here knows anything about Windows Live OneCare which comes free for a trial period and then you have to pay. It seems like it does a really decent job getting rid of any pottential virus or trojan horse. eeeek,,, . I am thinking about extending the membership. Any recommendations?
