Going through it now and wow… I’m just in shock. Firstly, I watched the festival cut. About 4 minutes longer than theatrical. It is actually different from the “Sundance cut” that’s been online for a few years now. Not by much but it is. I will say… the film looks how the filmmakers have always wanted it to look. 60FPS for the video, etc, but I can’t separate my love for the film from the version I’ve watched for 25 years. It just felt… weird. There is a hidden 15 minutes of 16mm b-roll and it’s GORGEOUS. You see Heather and Josh go back into Heather’s house with her friend who films her at the start. You see them setting up shots before interviews outside the convenience store, you see Mary Brown smoking outside and much more footage of them with her outside. Just unbelievable stuff. About to dig into the deleted scenes now and from the start, it’s nothing I’ve ever seen before. If you don’t have an all-region player, it is a MUST to get one for this release. Watching it right now. And HO LEE SHEET this is beautiful. So much detail. This is the only version I'll watch from now on. Which player did you get to watch it?

I'm on disc 2 now. Most of this I haven't seen. I understand why these scenes were cut, as they don't move the story along. But as a fan it's cool to see extended versions of scenes and to see some things (the stick bundle for example) in more detail. Nice

I got the modified Sony BDP-S1700 Is that the one on Amazon? No. This one has been made region free. Here's where I got it: If you buy from there be sure to choose the region free option ($40 extra). I understand you can buy the normal player and mod it yourself but that seems like a lot of trouble.

The actors came up with some really good stuff. They don't get enough credit.

So fuckin jealous of you guys ....
I have it. The LE box set. But no way to play it. I was hoping to rip it into my computer and watch it that way but my computer doesn't even recognize the disc. I love deleted scenes and was shocked to see a whopping 90 minutes of them. No Blair cemetery though, huh?
At any rate, I'll see it eventually. I'm also curious if someone with a lot of time on their hands will make a fan cut adding ALL the deleted footage we now have and making a 3 hour version of the movie.
EDIT: I'm able to rip it now. Spending the day enjoying some bonus features....

And I am interested to see what fan editors will come up with for alternate fan cuts too. I always wanted to make my own and always grind myself too busy to get into. Besides people like KevBones really nailed it with their extended versions and mine would like crappy in comparison.

Going through the doc, so much behind the scenes footage, wild stuff. Cant believe we now have footage of them saying “taco” to the camera for when it rained them out, getting on the walkie talkie at the house they went to. Just so much cool stuff here. The talking head footage of Ed, Dan, Mike, Greg and Ben aren’t saying anything super fans don’t already know but this is an exhaustive documentary with all new BTS footage. Love it. Also there’s more deleted clips as well in the doc. We see Heather’s perspective from the tent run out scene.
Also, yeah, as much fun as it would be to make a super extended cut, I don’t know. When I made that previously extended version, I felt my relationship to the movie change a bit where it became more technical than just a loving viewer of the movie. I still want to be able to sit down and watch this movie and love it and not feel detected from it.

That's understandable. It's not needed but it just would be cool to see a 3 hour version in great quality. I noticed Josh had a lot more break downs. Like after being chased through the woods and asking Heather for her knife...he really lost it.
Another thing I've noticed about the deleted scenes and BTS footage is .... How insanely cute Heather was in the 90s. I fell in love with her all over again. Those cheeks and full, pouting lips.... And her eyes... Damn.

Hi guys, you might know me from my other posts on these forums - mostly from my Blair Witch 2 fan edits which I worked on for quite some time, which grew to be quite popular online! I've got access to a new bluray drive for my computer as of today which will allow me to begin work on the extended cut for Blair Witch Project, which I've had planned on doing for quite some time. Work on the extended cut will begin tonight. It shouldn't take me nearly as long as my previous edits either. (I hope)
With that said... I am a fan of pretty much every single piece of Blair Witch media - admittedly, I am not as familiar with the cut content for BWP than I am with BW2, (I had some extremely rare material to help guide me with the accuracy of that edit) so I will most likely need some help from you BWP super fans when it comes to scene placement and if I've accidentally forgot or left something out. So expect several revisions of the edit before it will be considered finalised, just as I did for far too long with my BW2 edits (lol)
I'd be happy to credit you guys in some way or another for assisting me create the ultimate extended edition for BWP. Cheers guys!

Adding the deleted scenes would double the length of the film. So a 3 hour version?

I'm seeing that this version is showing sold out on the Second Sight website. That's a good sign. If Lionsgate sees there is a demand for it they might consider a Region A release sooner rather than later.
Will I buy it again? Of course. It's a sickness. I fear there is no cure...

It was also fascinating to hear the original audio of the first two nights in the festival cut, though I prefer the mix in the theatrical.

I've seen FB posts from people that DON'T LIKE the improved video quality of the new release. WTF?
I guess it's true that you can't please everyone.

I've seen FB posts from people that DON'T LIKE the improved video quality of the new release. WTF? I guess it's true that you can't please everyone. I've seen that as well. Some thought AI or filters were used to artificially enhance the footage. Others say they preferred how it looked before because it made the film "creepier," "more realistic," or that it was just what they were used to. That's social media for you. People love to use it to complain about the things they don't like and be negative. Whichever version people choose to watch is their own business and a matter of personal preference, but I personally would feel ridiculous going into the official Blair Witch group and telling the creators to their faces that the way they wanted their film to look is wrong and the studio was right to change it.

Anyone else received an email about the audio error? Apparently the theatrical cut has a dual mono track rather than the stereo mix it's supposed to have. Not sure if every copy is the same.

Second Sight knows who bought them. They should ship replacement discs without customers having to request them. The box set shows out of print on the site now. Did they sell them all or did they pull them over the audio thing?
