I used all the audio from this scene uploaded here in my edit. Including the "Something is wrong" audio, though I did try and add this raw footage upscaled but it looked awful even at 4K.

So what i'm saying is... the theatrical Artisan tampered with release which we all know of this scene has that reversed dialogue from Eileen. Where as this Directors Cut footage here it is not present. This is why I thought *possibly* it was something to do with Esrever, but it's not as it was an afterthought. Really strange either way.

You're saying the theatrical release contains the hidden reverse Eileen dialogue, while the older "DC footage" (with the "something IS wrong" dialogue) does not.

Which means they changed it later before release... And which also means your own version of this scene is more "pure" in nature. I think.

am working on the Artisan removal edit still. It's an edit built off version #5 so it will have certain elements from V5, like replaced Eileen in the hospital and so on. Plus all the enhancements like the louder ambience and music etc.

I was tapping on a window and my whole hand just went through it lol. I had to go into surgery as my middle finger was almost sliced halfway. Thanks!

Well now that you've had several weeks to begin the healing process.. do you mind explaining why you were "tapping on a window" that shattered so easily?

alcohol for starters. I was going back to a friends house and tried to wake them up, knocked on the window with my fist and it just went straight through lol.. pretty bad luck. I went back into the hospital today and the cast / splint was changed over to a smaller one but for tendon damage it's a 3 month healing process which is awful.

Anyway, fun fact I was told today - the glass cut through roughly 75% of my finger, in short it was held on by "25%" lol

Sorry to hear about your weird injury first of all, but more importantly, I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you put into making this edit. I just found out about it today and watched it.

I always adored the movie in the first place, and feel it has so many good qualities which still make it truly unique and amongst the best mystery/horror films out there, but this new edit is a very enjoyable alternative to the one we got. Not having the weird jarring scenes of the attack, and the absence of expectation which is caused by taking out the foreshadowed police/interrogation stuff creates an interesting fluidity to the narrative. I always sort of look at the weird jumble as an expression of (primarily) Jeffrey's shattered psyche and an attempt to portray that kind of fractured memory/recall, but this way you have edited it makes a great separate way to feel more grounded into the actual flow of events (while also getting access to missing scenes). I also appreciate that you didn't actually take anything out which is what many others would do in order to "fix" what they see as bad.

So thanks again. I will enjoy having this version as my possible watch every time my perenennial interest in all things Blair Witch comes back around.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the kind words. I'm really glad there is people out there who enjoy the edit. I put many months of work into it and it looks like it has paid off! I wanted to make the edit different to existing ones before it like you said which strip out scenes, rather than adding and improving on existing stuff which I've attempted here. the overall idea was to improve the film and bring it closer in line to what the director originally had in mind. It's no secret that this film went through hell whilst getting made.. multiple scripts were made for it all different. I had some secrets up my sleeve whilst working on it and some access to things which aren't publicly available online or anywhere for that matter which worked as a guiding hand in my edit. I went over the internet with a fine comb in attempt to find any and everything related to BW2 that was ever made, this includes even talking to several people involved in the movie and in some cases even people like Ben Rock who worked on Blair Witch Project. I wanna say he's a great guy and talking with him was awesome.

Recently I opened a thread with details about the Artisan removal edit I am working on, but I wasn't ready to show some of the changes in full yet. to be fixed - version 5 TYPE O black screen flickers in credits near end.

What is 'Artisan removal edit?' how is it different than V5 extended? - Removes all added scenes like the Book scene, Jeff notes scene, removes any and all asylum flashback sequences, this means Jeff is no longer crazy, as originally intended. Massively different intro featuring a brief scene from Blair Witch Project. Title intro text explaining that this is a 'recreation of events' is changed to the original directors cut text.

Example - "The Following is based on actual events. Some dramatic re-creation was necessary for reasons that will become obvious"
old text would read - " The following is a fictionalized re-enactment of events that occurred after the release of The Blair Witch Project"
