From Wikipedia:
In fiction, canon is the material accepted as officially part of the story in the fictional universe of that story. It is often contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction. The alternative terms mythology, timeline, universe and continuity are often used, with the former being especially used to refer to a richly detailed fictional canon requiring a large degree of suspension of disbelief (e.g. an entire imaginary world and history), while the latter two typically refer to a single arc where all events are directly connected chronologically. Other times, the word can mean "to be acknowledged by the creator(s)."

So what other material would you include as canon? What other books and stuff were Haxan involved in?

To me the games never really fit with the rest of the mythology. I assumed they were just another Artisan cash grab and it didn't matter if they made sense or not.

Yeah, I don’t ever think the games could be included. The first one was pretty much a sequel to Nocturne so then that opens up the door of that being in the same universe as BW and then it gets messy.

Its a little awkward because if you include the game you get this Frankenstein of a timeline. This series is the most interesting in terms of whats canonical or not out of all the series I've burned through. If you want to include the games then Nocturne and Bloodrayne are somehow into the mix because the devs of Nocturne used the game as a last ditch effort to make a sequel when they were denied one. With that in mind you would have to split the timelines like how the Halloween series is split into 4 different timelines.

Sorry, but no. There is only one, true canon:
The original history/mythology (all contained within Curse of the Blair Witch)
Heather's project, the subsequent dossier, the Burkittsville 7 documentary, and The Trial of Elly Kedward.
Nothing more, nothing less. Clean and simple.
See? This is what happens when capitalization occurs. People's minds get muddled with all kinds of false notions.
And no, "The Secret Confession of Rustin Parr" doesn't count either.
