i'm just like...mellow man alcohol friday night and there was weed last year. I stayed in the motel in the same room where they did during filming, watched the movie and smoked a bowl, it was quite fun. I did not recite poetry though

Start brushing up on a poem or two now.
"And my head runs feet to the tat. To the tat!" (that sounds like what Josh said anyway)
"This help does me no good for the streets they grow colder"
"You are a fuckin' ... yer Jakob Dylan! yer Jakob Dylan!"
"I'm not Jakob Dylan, you're f--king Jakob, okay .."

I actually drove out to Maryland in March of this year (I live in Ohio) and I found what I'm pretty sure is the ruins of the Parr House (Griggs House). It's just some bricks in a clearing on top of a hill. I talked to a couple locals who have lived in that neighborhood for years and they said that at one time there were two houses adjacent to each other but depending on who I talked to the story changed on which one was used in the movie. There's the site I found listed on Google Earth where it's actually geocached and that's the site at the top of the hill with the few scattered bricks. Just down the slope a ways, closer to the armory fence, there's another spot where a house or some other structure used to be but it's all overgrown you don't realize it's there unless you're looking for it. I've also seen pictures of both houses from the 1970s when Maryland was cataloging abandoned structures and while it's obvious from the photos which house was used in the film, it's not so obvious where exactly they were on the map. Some aerial photos from 1957 and 1971 (which I'll upload when I'm on my other PC) show a driveway winding behind the armory and it separates and goes to two houses behind the armory that are within sight of each other. I guess my question is, does anyone have the real location of the Griggs House who actually visited it while it was still standing? It just felt odd being there and not being sure. I always wanted to see the house so you can imagine my disappointment when I did a little search before my trip and found out that it was gone.

If I were any farther away from Burkittsville I'd be in the Pacific Ocean.

Don't think I'm gonna drive 15 hours a day for three and a half days to get there plus sleep in my truck at rest areas.
Then Esrever the whole thing to get back to where I didn't want to be to begin with.
I know ... guess that means I'm not a true fan.

Will there be posted meeting times with locations that can be punched into a GPS unit? I'll be coming from Ohio and I'm not so familiar with the area and as I understand it the locations are pretty spread out all over the place.

I'm sure Monro will provide you with whatever directions you need if you want to attend. He's the one putting on this shindig in the woods. He's got the map AND the compass!
