I feel you man. I love BOS. The original concept by Joe Berlinger is brilliant and I really wish it hadn't been interfered with but the original will always be number 1 for me.

Well ... BoS has its moments. A certain vibe, as you say.
Just watched it again last week. I ALWAYS skip the intro and only start watching at the part where the van's on the road and Jeff's welcoming everyone over his little loudspeaker system.
The entire intro stinks.

I desperately want to see a directors cut because the intro would have been totally different and completely reworked. Could've been great.

No.
A Frank Sinatra song at the opening is even worse. But other than that the Berlinger cut is better than the theatrical (see the Berlinger fan-edit)

Witchcraft would have been a hell of a lot better than Manson. Putting metal in the opening credits of a horror is a massive cliche especially for 90s/00s movies.
If the studio had stuck to his original concept, it would have fitted a lot better in the franchise and dealt well with the whole fiction or reality idea around the first movie.

This is the movie that made Me love disposable teens and Marilyn Manson in general
