I'm satisfied with what we got, but I always wonder what the movie would be without all the commercial tweaking on the film.

I haven't watched it in a long time. I should probably give it another try.

I think the film definitely works better if the TBWP is looked at as just a movie. Hell, a LOT of people thought it was real during that time, so the characters in the film probably were mixed on its legitimacy anyway. The reason why I think the film is better if it looked at TBWP as just a film is because it plays to group hysteria and the human element of them PROBABLY committing the murders. I mean we can always throw in that supernatural explanation and possibility, but it definitely implies the group hysteria idea and that the characters were responsible.
It's very interesting either way really, but I definitely see TBWP as only a film inside of BOSBW2.

I don't think it was ever going to live up to the first movie to be honest, I still remember Blair Witch coming out and being absolutely in shock and terrified. It's been few and far between a horror movie has ever been able to recapture that feeling for me. The originality, way it was shot amtmosphere, background and acting were all top notch. Can't praise it enough. And yeah I do really like Blair Witch 2, but in agreement it perhaps shouldn't have been a sequel and more a standalone, or even differentiated from Blair Witch genre altogether. Anyway, two movies that have stood the test of time...okay maybe more so one than the other but still, I'm glad we at least got a sequel
