Takes place BEFORE the origianl series! I think like a backstory. I have also heard it is a flashback of one Mr. Spock. Purely speculation!!
Although this version of the trailer peeks my interest!!

story moved to quickly, and the film negates absolutely everything star trek wise for the past 20+ years besides.... enterprise |
