God, that is the house. I recognize it! It's so eerie to once have walked through it and now it's probably all gone, except for a few piles of sticks and stones...

That house is where BW1 ended -- it is NOT Parr's old house. "Curse of the Blair Witch" states that the people burned Parr's house to the ground four months before they hanged him on November 22, 1941.
So Parr's old house was burned to the ground in July 1941.

So they were exploring a "ghost house"

I still have a couple of hours of video of the house before it was torn down. It's on those tiny camcorder cassettes tho'. I haven't even viewed them in over 10 years?? Wow how time flies!!

It was his house.
And i wonder if the cellar is filled up with ruble, it would be nice if it where kept intact. Maybe it would be possible to just clear out the ruble and if it wasn't flooded with dirt you'd still be able to crawl down there. Which is sadly unlikely

Maybe I can help. I don't know if this was actually Myrick's and Sanchez's intention, but here's my theory. I think the two filmmakers have a pretty good idea of Appalachian folklore (western Maryland is in Appalachia, after all). Anyway, I'm from WV, and we have several similar folktales here. In this story (of which there are many versions), a lone traveler is lost, and finds a large house in the middle of nowhere. Thankful to find shelter, he knocks on the door, and someone answers the door (in one version, it's a young girl; in another, it's an elderly couple). Anyway, the house-owners invite the traveler in, and he spends the night. In the morning, the traveler leaves and makes it to the next town. At a bar (or other town meeting place), he describes the kind people in the large house who gave him shelter last night. The bar grows silent, and everyone gives him a hard look. An old man looks him square in the face and says, "That's impossible. That house burned to the ground 50 years ago. Killed the occupants too. Poor fellows." Creepy stuff...
Anyway, I think the filmmakers were inspired by that legend, and were giving a variation of it.

I was confused when I last posted in this thread.
This is Parr's house alive again after being burned down in July 1941. Alive again to trap Heather and Mike in it's bowels.
