does not haxan and artisan know that a third bwp film would bring lots of money in the box office?
there are 3 american pie films, 3 spy kids films,
it would hurt anyone to start making a third blair with film

So, it was their call. After BOS flopped at the box office, Artisan never wanted to do another BW film. However, now that Artisan has been taken over by Lions Gate, we pray LG will show some interest in a prequel. Thanks!

I am definitely interested in a prequel. I think it would fly and, I just do not think the B O S was that bad. I enjoyed it. Craig

I totally agree, Craig. BOS was not as bad as I expected it to be. I liked it, but then - I don't really consider it a BW sequel - but more of a stand alone film. And it is better than most of its kind. I read that TBWP had a worldwide gross of $248,300,000 and it made something like $28.5 million on its opening weekend. Based on a budget of less than $40,000. BOS on the other hand earned $13 million on its opening weekend and faded quickly. I don't have current gross $$ on BOS, but every website that I have seen has its US gross at about $26 million in 2000. I'm sure that gross has increased somewhat over three years. However, BOS cost about $15 million to make. Thus, it was considered a flop financially and Artisan shut down all possibilites on the BW front. I do think a prequel would be wonderful - coming from our friends at Haxan. They are the ones with the true vision on this project. Keep your fingers crossed that Lions Gate agrees with us at some point in the future.

I think BOS had some really great scenes, and it was a very entertaining movie! I never expected it to win an Oscar, but I liked it!
