Carried over from Tweek:
"The creek figures prominently in the BW mythos. It certainly was a big part of TBWP. Could it be that this is where the dark power is strongest? "

It does seem like Tappy Creek was a very powerful source in the BW mythos. But so was Coffin Rock and the area where Rustin Parr's house was. All seemed to be a pivotal locations for reoccuring themes throughout the story. Thus, the victims were lured there over and over.
I almost added the woods where they found all the stickmen hanging too, but I'm not so sure that the location is as important as the symbolism. I think at that point in the film, the multitude of stickmen spoke of the futilism of their escape attempts. The "power" in those woods was simply overhwhelming and everywhere - and there was no way out. My opinion only, but that is the feeling I got the last time I saw it. I think it was almost like a super taunting effect......and the trio reacted accordingly. Who wouldn't...when you realize what you're running from is capable of something this enormous? This isn't a couple of rednecks from town messing with the college kids for fun. This is a big cat playing with three itty bitty mice - just before the killing commences.

I agree that there is some kind of Super-Natural presence in those woods, weather it's the Creek, the Rustin Parr's ruins, or the whole area itself. For those that believe, don't believe, or the curious. If you've ever thought about going out there just to check it out: #1 don't go out there at night (dumb idea). #2 Everyone has at least the bare essentials in there home to protect themselves from anything "Evil".... Christians... take your bible with you. Non-denominationals and/or Witches.... make a mixture of salt water & and sprinkle it upon yourself/ use red pepper and sprinkle it upon the path you take/ take your protective crystals with you. Any one of these will keep you safe, but in this case, I would take all three, and just in case... Take the Bible too.
