Even if it was BWP, i'd still be up for this, survival horror puts out some great stuff in that genre lately!

Got a call from Ed the other day, I was already planning a Friday night event and he came upon something that will marry perfectly with what I had plan. Waiting for him to get some more details ironed out so we can announce it!

Coming later this year (hopefully)
8 Days in the Woods: The Making of The Blair Witch Project
I just finished the completely authorized book chronicling the entire making of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.
Over the past few years I’ve tirelessly interviewed everyone connected to the film from top to bottom. People you may have never heard of and their stories and stories from those you do. Stories you think you knew all the part to will be expanded. Over 3 dozen people were interviewed and over 100 hours of interviews were conducted. No Stone was left unturned compiling this all with the complete cooperation of Haxan Films, the guys who made the movie!
Now it’s time to put it all together and get it ready for you all to read. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I loved putting it together.

Mike's confession while it showcased his acting talent definitely didn't have the punch of Heathers so they excised it later in the editing process before sending it off to Sundance.

"Found footage" shouldn't look pristine. That's sorta the point. I don't think 4K is always about being pristine (look at the Dark Crystal 4K transfer), it's about getting as close to the film print version of the film as possible. And that'll look better even with shaky and blurry footage. Talk to Mike Monello about how the film should look and you'll love the answer lol! I've talked to him quite a few times about it and he still feels that VHS is the closest the film looks to how it was shot. Shot on Hi-8 & 16mm the film was transferred to digiBeta, put into the computer, edited, then transfered back to digiBeta and then to 35mm. That process changes the way the film is presented so there is a slightly different look. I always joke with Gregg Hale that he somewhere has a box of the digiBeta tapes so that I could see the film on a first generation dub (the hi-8 tapes are long gone)

i know that but i feel like they could go to the original film elements to make a proper restoration like the blu ray is kinda cropped without the round edges. The Video footage will surely still look bad but imo the 16mm footage could benefit of the higher resolution and maybe even give the chance of doing that extended cut for the 20th anniversary . My Panasonic has a firmware error that adds dolby vision to every movie on netflix lol and it makes the Blair Witch Project look alot better. Sorry for my kinda strange english. cheers I understand you perfectly fine so no worries. I see what you're saying and i know a lot of people want that, to make a film look better. To me, i think Blair looks best on VHS since the way it was shot it has a different feel and look to me, and thats just me. I feel watching the film as close to the way it was shot is the best to experience. Too much spit and polish, to me, takes away from a part of the film that makes the film special. Who knows what we will get Lionsgate

if they do honestly i doubt it'd look the way it should. its meant to look gritty, unrefined by nature. I'd buy it because its in my dna to but i'm not sure it'd ever be "restored" for a new format for some time.

this is nowhere close to the cemetery so nobody would know its there. I wonder too if they thought it was the shack, the shanty but honestly they're not really similar

apparently, the church listed in the article appeared in TBWP. It did not appear in the film. its located about a mile west of town and the cast did not drive past nor film it. Not sure where this came from but I stumbled upon the site while looking for something else. I don't begrudge people from catching a whiff of the hype of the film as long as it's warranted. I dont want people reaching out but i do find it funny that its proximity to Burkittsville is being use to hopefully save it which is a noble effort. I hate seeing old buildings left to rot, esp one with history but I found this amusing. www.preservationmaryland.org/endangered-ceres-bethel-ame-church/
