I have a few copies of the game and they've never worked when I insert the disc, I had to 'legally' download them to get them to work perfectly. Thanks for letting me know that as well. It's weird because I have my older laptop and I was able to play and save the games normally. I guess if I really want to play them I'll have to play them from start to finish in one day.

I find it weird though how coffin rock will save and the other ones won't. That's how I went to save, escape then save and I put in my save name and it adds the assigned save destination but it says error, warning your game didn't save.
Thanks for replying by the way.

I think they did go back in time because if you play the Blair Witch PC games in the first one called Rustin Parr the people of Burkittsville went into the black hills and burned down Rustin Parr's house after the kids were discovered there. I don't know if that was made up or if it was supposed to tie into the actual blair witch history (I just mean the made up history, not that I think the blair witch is real). Curse of the Blair Witch talks about Rustin's house having been burned to the ground. Their footage was found beneath the foundation of an old house. The way Mike is facing the corner implies that it is Rustin Parr's house. I forgot about that, it's been a while since I've watched Curse of the Blair Witch.

I don't know if that was made up or if it was supposed to tie into the actual blair witch history (I just mean the made up history, not that I think the blair witch is real). It would also explain going back in time if it was the 7 kids that were at their tent that night shaking it down and scaring them, etc. I know that was the filmakers kids but I think it was supposed to be the 7 kids, not sure. In the first Blair Witch game time portals were created by playing certain stick figures in certain areas and it would create time portals, going back in time or maybe forward and the ghosts of the kids seem to know how to create that in the game, because one of the kids Emily Hollands is talking to Mary Brown about going to "his" house but Mary said it was burnt, and Emily says "not if the sticks are laid right".
So, I don't know I've always thought of the Blair Witch games being an extension of the made up history of The Blair Witch, like going deeper into it. Maybe when Heather, Mike, and Josh saw the millions of stick figures hanging in the trees they were stick figures for a time portal to go back in time. Technically Rustin Parr's house shouldn't be there anymore. You can see that in the second movie, Book of Shadows when it's just a foundation.

I think it was either his tongue or a piece of his intestines because that's what they did at coffin rock, tore out intestines.

I think I heard in the commentary that it was something in a white sheet rising up slowly and in the dark it probably looked creepy.

I think when they were in the house looking for Josh and you hear him saying things like "help me" and "guys please" it was the witch. Remember how they'd hear Josh upstairs then it changed to downstairs but he didn't sound like he was desperate, more like he was talking normally. I know it was Josh the actor but myth wise I think it was the witch trying to mess with them and eventually lure then downstairs to be killed. If Josh was really there and knew Heather and Mike were there he would have probably screamed his head off trying to let them know where he was so he could be rescued. He would have been like "guys help me I'm in the attic" or something.

I was going to buy the blu-ray version for better picture and sound but I also read that it isn't much better than standard since it wasn't meant for blu-ray quality. Is that the special edition you're talking about? Also, I don't hear anything. I hear the baby sounding demonic before they turn their lights on but that's it.

I'm not updated in technology too much so I can't take pics but my collection is pretty basic so I'll list for you what I have...
The Blair Witch Project, The Blair Witch Project 2, The Blair Witch Files, The Blair Witch PC Games...(The Blair Witch Volume One: Rustin Parr, The Blair Witch Volume 2: Coffin Rock, The Blair Witch Volume 3: Elly Kedward), The Blair Witch Project A Dossier, The Blair Witch Chronicles, The Secret Confessions of Rustin Parr, The Blair Witch Hunt van (toy car). That's pretty much it. Nothing rare or exciting.

The state I live in, Rhode Island is very historic but I'm not sure of any places that are haunted. I know lots of famous places like the University of Rhode Island used to be a hospital or asylum but later became a college. I have a book that talks about stuff like that, it's interesting but that's it.

I've had these games for a while and I always enjoy the heck out of them. I recently bought a new Dell laptop with windows 10 and I figured I would try to install them since sometimes new technology doesn't work with old technology. Each game installed successfully. I started off with the third game since that's where I last left off when I played the games before on my Unbuntu laptop. The game played fine but when I went to go save it said error and at the botton it said warning: your game didn't save. I tried again in case it was just a glitch or something but same thing. I tried the other games quickly to see if they do the same thing. The first game did the same thing and the second game saved successfully.
I did try quick save too and that didn't work either.
I mean, yeah I could spend an entire day playing the games straight through from start to finish but I usually play for a bit then save and quit to take a break or do something else and come back to it. Or, if the game crashes randomly I'd like to save the game so I can pick up where I left off.
Do you guys know how I can fix this?
I think the third game as .sav at the end when you save it and the first game as .noc at the end.
This is very frustrating.
Thanks in advance for answers.

Hello. I'm a new member but by far not new to The Blair Witch. I've been a fan since the first movie came out (not the crappy remake). My first viewing of The Blair Witch Project was on VHS, I think it was a renter at Blockbuster or something. I was hooked since then. I too was with the many people who tried to analyze what was in the Blair Witch's gift to Heather outside the tent. I was caught up in the phenomenon, but I never thought it was real, although some did I imagine.
The second Blair Witch movie (book of shadows) wasn't as good I'll admit but I liked the reference to the history and things of that nature.
After the first movie came out I found The Blair Witch PC games, (individually, not with the Blair Witch pack that came with the movies, games, and stick figure necklace). Back then I played the games on a big, bulky computer. I've also played Nocturne. I found that on amazon last year brand new and pretty cheap. I only enjoyed the first episode though but I did play them all.
Much later I found The Blair Witch Files books and I really enjoyed them. Amazon became my best friend during that time to find all the books one by one. I also have The Secret Confessions of Rustin Parr, the Blair Witch Project: A Dossier, and The Blair Witch Chronicles (mine is the one with the red cover and I don't know if it's a volume of one set of comics or all of them since it doesn't say.
I also have the Blair Witch Hunt van I also bought on amazon.
My Blair Witch merchandise is minimal compared to other people but I'm fine with that.
As far as me, I'm a 33 year old female still living at home. I live in Rhode Island, although I'd rather be some place else. I don't drive due to ADHD and when I've tried to get medication before it wasn't worth the hassle I had to go through to get it. Besides, people here drive badly as it is and I can picture myself getting into an accident every day. I went to a Community College and graduated with an associates degree in Early Childhood. I'm not 100% fond of children but I was told I should try it and I did. Most of the other classes were business or medical related anyway. But, I did work a few months at a couple of different preschools with people who just wanted to have someone cover breaks and clean up after everyone when the day was over. I didn't make a heck of a lot more than minimum wage, because I wanted to be a Teacher's Assistant. So, with my very limited experience people see that as nothing and pick people who are Mom's and people they know over me. Despite the fact that I'm probably more qualified or overly qualified for the Teacher's Assistant jobs, because I have an associates degree and hardly anyone does. I thought it was a requirement, I was told that anyway.
Anyway, I work at my sucky job at McDonald's in the mean time.
My hobbies include playing video games and reading. The games I mainly play are from the Tomb Raider, Grand Theft Auto, and Metal Gear Solid franchise and I've been playing those since the beginning as well (basically since the 90's). Before that I enjoyed playing games on NES in the 80's. I have a Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and an NES.
I love animals---cats and dogs are great pets.
I've been a lurker on this forum for a while as a guest but I'm currently having issues with my new laptop and The Blair Witch games and couldn't find my answer using google so I thought I'd give this forum a try.
Thanks for reading.
