Well, the article says the movie was filmed in 1999, but all of it was actually filmed in late October of 1997.
Also, in a Q&A panel Daniel Myrick was asked how many hours of film was shot originally and his answer was simply "28 hours". (the article says 19 hours)

Consider it STICKY!
Actually, Lionsgate are the ones that will have to be convinced. They own the rights and Ed (or anyone else) can't touch it without the green light from LG.

(the article says 19 hours) I updated the article to say "1999 film" rather than "1999 shoot". I heard 19 hours . . so for consistency, I'll leave that value for now since I have it referenced on other pages.

Eduardo is backing the article. And yes, Lionsgate would have to greenlight the project as the owners of the franchise. Again, I encourage everyone to also post comments at the end of the article (not just vote). The more the better!

The filming of The Blair Witch Project in 1999 culminated in close to 19 hours of usable footage.
Still misleading. I think it should read like this:
The filming of The Blair Witch Project culminated in close to 19 hours of usable footage.

(the article says 19 hours) I asked Eduardo how many hours of footage there were. He said 19-22 hours sounds about right. Wasn't as high as 28. Again, everyone please comment on the original article. The more written feedback we have the greater the likelihood of this becoming a reality.

Ahh... a challenge!
There's a Q&A panel from the 10th Anniversary in 2009 on YouTube where Dan says 28 hours.
I am not remembering it wrong. I am not delusional. I am not making it up. And no, I don't feel like finding that video again right now.

I'm not nitpicking at all. You can write whatever you want. I was simply relaying Daniel Myrick's answer from a Q&A panel. Nothing more, nothing less. Choose to believe me or not, your choice.

Most of that footage is probably them just wandering around and getting lost and hikers passing by asking them what they were doing.

Or farmers chasing them out of their fields at the end of a shotgun

Alrighty then.
I wasn't able to track down the full video but I did find an excerpt which shows the 2009 Q&A panel that I was speaking of.
Mr. Myrick was present but Mr. Sanchez did not attend.

I guess. All I know is I'm not mis-remembering his answer.
Wish I could track down that full panel video again because I look delusional.
Hey, Monro, how much extra Mary Brown was shot? And can you tell us what it was? There's footage in the Sticks•n•Stones mocumentary that shows Mary away from her trailer showing our trio something...
I LOVE MARY'S STICK GATE.

to reply to your one sentence:
That really was Patty's gate at her place, she lived like that.
I haven't watched the footage in a while i'll have to dig through and see what i have!
no, no NDA was needed to be signed
