Considering what could be included, I knew from the start this was to be somewhat anti-climatic, in that we were not approached on anything to do with it. All the good sh*t remains here, locked up.
But I'm unlocking it piece by piece.

Would you ever consider recording a new, retrospective commentary and releasing it for download online?

not sure its worth the trouble for just 4 alt endings. I can't recommend it. Unless you're a collector that just has to have everything Blair, I'd skip it. Or rent it to watch the endings.

I would recommend it to fans. I mean it could of been a lot worse. We could of got ZERO new features. And Lionsgate could of charged a lot more. I also don't understand people complaining about the picture quality....what did you expect? 95% of the movie is shot on Hi-8. That's lower than VHS quality picture source. I never expected to be blown away by an HD transfer of this film. With that in mind, as poor looking as it is, we are in fact getting it in the best possible quality. I think a more important aspect of this release is the new DTS-HD Master audio. Much like Paranormal Activity, one of the most important aspects of this film is sound. To have a DTS HD Master audio track will ensure we are hearing everything we are meant to hear. Nothing will be lost, unlike in the compressed audio tracks found on dvds. And lets face it, one of the biggest complaints to studios about bluray releases of catalog titles is that they often neglect to port over the previous features found on the DVD. Thankfully, Lionsgate has included all of the previous special features on the dvd AND added the 4 alternate endings. Yes, it could of been a lot better. We could of gotten a lot more as Dan pointed out earlier. But if you love the movie, and have a bluray player.... $9.99...come on...I can think of worse ways for a Blair Witch fan to spend $10

I probably will get it. I do collect all things Blair so I can't miss it out. I'm too curious about the endings. I'll find some way to watch it ;D

Would you ever consider recording a new, retrospective commentary and releasing it for download online? Regarding commentary, I think all that could be said - has been. There IS more to be revealed in commentary per se, and that has in fact been done recently. The details of such I'm not allowed to discuss at this time. We're waiting on some legal release needs and are hoping some answers come sooner than later. There's great sh*t to be discovered. Regarding further material, the meat and potatoes would be the Behind-the-Scenes, which would be nearly impossible to release on DVD without compromising content, in that there is so much of it I wouldn't know what to edit to cut it to DVD. We're talking 110 hours worth of material. This is exactly why "Woods Movie" was established, to bring you all that material in a series platform. Regarding the original 22-hours of raw footage, we can't even touch that without legal permission. Ironic that LG doesn't have it, but it's considered BLAIR footage - hence it's legally theirs. Just as well, to be honest - the raw footage is a lot of hiking. A lot. There's material very much worth seeing of course, enough to fill several DVDs, but that's not possible at this time. Unless your savvy enough to go easter egg hunting in the woods, dig?

I just finished the Bluray by the way... it definitely looks exactly how I remember it looking in theaters. And it nixes the whole "Pillarbox" aspect ratio that the dvd had where it it looked like you were seeing the movie through a window. Its now in standard 4x3 ratio.
The sound is definitely a VAST improvement.
And as for the alternate endings....Im glad they are there. Very interesting to finally see them. I love the front facing Mike ending. What made that one creepy was how the hanging stickmen in the basement were swaying when Heather came around the corner.
Im still sticking with what I said above...all in all, if you love the movie and have a bluray player, you can't really go wrong at just $10.

Dan, whatever is being said, I just spent most of my day earlier watching the BW Blu, and enjoyed the hell out of it.
Now that being said, I wish Lionsgate would just let you put all kinds of new sh!t on it. Of course I have a PS3 and I have a "surround sound" headset and the sound mix is AMAZING. The picture is just fine IMO. I thought it was great and the movie, after not watching it for a while, still holds up wonderfully, and I can only wish that Bw2 comes out on BluRay soon!!!

I'd say if you don't already have it on dvd, then this is the version to get. All the extras of the dvd plus the other endings. And the audio is improved a bit.

When I heard The Blair Witch Project was being released to blu-ray, I seriously was not interested since owning it on DVD seemed already a bit more than I wanted anyway. What I mean is that VHS is honestly my preferred way of viewing because the more crappy, the better...at least with this movie. However, I did pick it up because of the alternate endings not previously released before. I was definitely psyched to own anything I didn't already have. I still haven't watched my blu-ray copy though. As much as I love Blair Witch, I watch it in moderation.

Alright I'm really loving the Blu-Ray, everything is superior to DVD version.
Except for the video quality.. Wich is actually worse than the DVD version wich is obviously a big deal.
When i watch the DVD on my MacBook or PS3 i can upscale the aspect ratio wich makes it full screen without losing any of the image.
So i just put the two next to each other and played them at the same time only to draw the conclusion that the video quality is worse than the DVD. But the sound on the other hand is a vast improvement. The thing i love the most though is the menu for some reason, and all the extras of course.
So in my honest opinion its obviously worth picking up, but if you want to watch and enjoy The Blair Witch Project Movie by it self, it would be best to watch the DVD version upscaled (wich you can do yourself on a computer,PS3, or any other device that supports it) then switch to your Blu-Ray, and watch the rest of the stuff that way.
So basically what I'm trying to say is:
The only bad thing about the Blu-Ray is the video quality of the movie itself.

Agreed. This film does not benefit from the HD format.

I would like to have the Blu Ray just to see the alternate endings, but I don't have a Blu Ray player.

That sounds like a bit of a turn-off, but I would still consider getting BWP on Blu-Ray. Of course, I'm not sure if I'd get the DVD as well, but I still have the original VHS of that movie.
