Help a brotha out.
I need some more ram for an old clunker laptop, but the only place to get it is online. Since I have no credit card, I was thinking about getting and using a visa gift card to buy what i need online. But i can't find anyone who has ever used one and can tell me if it's a pain in the ass to use or not. Or if they even work for online buying.
Anyone?

A VISA gift card should work like any other credit card. The only thing there may be a small transaction fee to use it or a fee is deducted after some time if you don't use it. Read terms and conditions of VISA gift card you wish to purchase or call their customer service dept. to ask questions. You may need a pin (3-4) digit number located on the reverse of the card to make most online transactions. I'm not sure if this is available on a pre-paid card. Without this, you may not be able to use it online but they most likely will take your order over the phone with it.
