I am a little bit confused after reading the plot of the Blair Witch computer games.
The antagonist there is a supernatural force/demon named Hecaitomix. Elly Kedward never appears...
But what has it to do with the Blair Witch? Are the games canon (do they fit into the Blair Witch storyline) or was it just the interpretation/idea of the game developers?
Is the Hecaitomix the real "evil" and the cause for the strange things happening in the woods or is it still Elly Kedward?
Thanks for answers!

The games are not canon. I consider them fan fiction. As for the real evil in the woods... ... you'll just have to figure that one out

Stern's book, the Blair Witch Project, a dossier, states that the Native Indian tribes never settled in the Black Hills Forest, and in fact were frightened of it. Seems like a possible indirect mention of Hec'aitomix. Also, "Wood WItch Said" mentioned something in the woods which called to Elly's curse.

Sorry for bumping this thread up, but I want to add something:
Afaik Hecaitomix is semi-canon. It was not only mentioned in the games, but also in the production notes for the Blair Witch sequel (Book of Shadows). Sadly I have no link atm.
But as already mentioned, the legend says, that the Native American feared and avoided the Black Hills, long before Elly Kedward even existed. And this is suggesting, that there has to exist something else in the woods.
I hope, that the second sequel is going to reveal something in that way. But I don't think it's going to happen, because the movie and the mythology are living from the imagination of its viewers.

Either way it is mentioned that there is a paranormal force present in the woods that the Native Americans warned people about. Also i think the rock piles and the stick figures could possibly have something to do with the Native Americans.

The blair witch video games (do not fit the blair witch story line). There good games but they just don't fit.Only about 10% of the game is on the blair witch and the other 90% is on the demon. They should have called it The Hecaitomix video games.
