Hi all, i'm new here (my first post) recently found myself interested in the Blair Witch again, so figured it time to share one of my thoughts from a few years ago ;D
Okay, so apologies in advance if this topic has been suggested before (or indeed, if some of my information is incorrect *its been some years since i saw the movies, ive ordered the dvds from ebay again*) But has anyone else thought much about the possibility that Time itself is altered in the woods?
Here are my reasons for thinking this;
In TBWP, Heather Josh and Mike are lost in the woods, wandering in circles, unable to find the road/car... but what if the road *doesnt* exist yet?
To the end of the movie, when Mike and Heather enter Rustin Parrs house (im assuming it *is* Rustin Parrs house) it is intact/ still standing. By the time movie fandom had reached its peak, just a few short years later, in "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2" we see the 'ruins' of Rustin Parrs house (doesnt appear recently demolished, seems to have been that way for many years)
Now i recall playing a demo (many years back) of "Blair Witch: Vol. 1 - Rustin Parr" ...if i remember correctly, the game is set in the 1940's. I remember the investigator, going to the basement area, and seeing Heather Donnahue running downstairs holding her videocam, screaming, exactly is in the last events of TBWP, before abruptly disppearing, ghost-like.
We all know the Blair Witch tapes were found in the foundations of the house, under a wall, deep beneith undisturbed earth.
So hows this for an idea;
Mike, Josh and Heather go into the woods. During first night (the "quiet" night) there is a time shift/alteration. The three are now in the 1940s unbeknownst to them, lost in the woods (same time as investigations are over the Rustin Parr trial are taking place). To the end of the movie, as Heather runs into the basement ANOTHER timeshift takes place (causing and apparent "ghost image" to the onlooking investigator (sorry, i dont recall her name) as Heather is now taken slightly further back in history, where Rustin Parr *following the Witch's intructions* kills her like he did with the other children, while Mike stands in the corner. The tapes disappear in time to a point where the house has not been built yet, where they'll later (many many years later) be rediscovered and with the permission of the parents of those missing, the tapes will be edited togeather and released as "The Blair Witch Project". Perhapse Elly's way of making the entire world aware of her story.
(Okies, granted, its far fetched, haha, although there is evidence (BW2) that the witch (or the woods) have the power to "esrever" things (lolz) ;D
Whats peoples thoughts? ^^
