Marco just sees Johnston standing there, holding his puke back.
" What's the...Uhhhh. "
Marco runs to the corner and pukes. Suddenly he startles.
"Hey guys. My cell-phone has a signal here"
Marco dials a number...
"Hey. Can I speak to Elvira... OK,OK....Can I speak to Pussycat? Yeah, thanks.
Hey Pussycat Could you drive up to the Black Hills and help us a bit? Yeah, we are right now in a tunnel, that leads to Rustin Parr's hut, or whats left. Could you come? OK. Thanks. See ya then."
He turns
"Guys?I have great news. We are getting a 4th agent..."

Marco starles as he hears a womens voice calling out. He turns.
"Oh. It's you. How did you come here in that time. You needed half an hour from the office. I needed 2 hours."

Agent P. went back to her car. She picked up her dog . She hoped, the dog could find the right way through the tunnel.

Johnston turns to Erik with a puzzled look.
"What the? Where did Agent P. come from? How'd she get here so fast? And where did she go?"
He scratches his head, then shrugs his shoulders and heads for the tunnel opening.
"I give up trying to figure this place out. Let's go. If she got in then we can get out..."

Erik's yellow eyes narrow.
"I agree... I came here to track down a serial murderer, not chase some urban legend."
He follows Johnston, heading for the tunnel exit.

But. What is now with Patterson? I think he actually went through the other hole we detected. Why do we go now where we came from? I think we gotta go on. And look on the map. The tunnel isn't exactly on it, but if the tunnel goes straight, we have to come out at.....at Coffin Rock...

"Coffin Rock. Why am I not surprised?"
Erik rubs his eyes.
"Out of all of the serial killers, WHY do we get stuck with the movie geek?"

The tunnel seems to go on and on. How long is this thing anyway?
Johnston stops to pick up a piece of plastic at his feet. It is a blue hospital armband. The name reads PATTERSON, J.
"He was here. We are on the right path. He won't get away this time..."

Erik stops behind Johnston.
"Bring the sicko on..."
The faint *click* of a handgun being cocked is heard.

"What was that?"
Marco puts on his night-vision glasses
"I can see him. Come on guys. Follow me".
Marco runs and fires at the same time. But no shot seems to hit Patterson.
"Put on your glasses too"
As the whole group has put on the glasses all of a sudden a big flash brightens the room.
"Ahhh....Fuck"
Marco and the others put off their glasses and quickly see what made them to put off their glasses. A floodlight standing on the other site of the floor is directly pointing on them.
" This *sshole. He counted on everthing. I don't know how much more traps we are going to meet in the future...."

Erik rubs at his eyes, which are still hurting from the bright flash.
"Forget him being brought back dead or alive," he growls. "They'll be lucky if there's anything left after I get finished with him.."

The tunnel ends near the creek's edge. It is quite dark outside. There is a parked car here; the doors are unlocked but there are no keys. No sign of Agent P or her dog. The sound of flowing water and the chirp of crickets fill the air. Footsteps in the dirt lead from the tunnel exit to the water's edge.
Johnston holsters his gun and checks his GPS device. The team is a long way from the house now.
"The suspect may be headed for the old broom factory. The place he committed his murders back in '99. We can follow the creek right to it. Maybe we can catch him before he gets there."

Right. But should we follow the creek down the hill or up the hill. I actually don't know where he exactly lives. But now we are at Coffin Rock and I think we should follow the creek down the hill.
Marco turns and suddenly detects a Twana hung up in a big tree.
Oh boy. He's so sick. Look what a surprise he left for us. But I'm wondering how he got this thing up there.

"GPS indicates south. That way. About three miles. Try the radio again. There should be a signal now. We still need that backup, and I'd rather drive those three miles than walk them. We need to get ahead of this guy and bag him before he gets away again..."

But how should we get a car in these woods here? We have to get to Black Rock Road then, which is 20 minutes down the hill

Marco dials a number:
Hello. Is Jeff there? Yeah, we need more people out here Okay, thanks Hey Jeff. I know that was actually your case, but you were not there when they had to leave so I filled in for you. Do you still wanna join in the case? Okay, then....er....let's meet....Okay wait. Drive down the Black Rock Road and you gonna see us at the roadside. Okay, bye
Marco puts his cell-phone back into his trouser pocket.
We're getting another detective to help us. I still wonder about that Twana. How the hell did he get this thing up there? But, yeah...we got other things to do than envision about how he got it up there. Let's start the walk down to Black Rock Road.
Marco is the first who heads for the Road...

The march through the woods is uneventful. The trail is very easy to follow here, unlike the path to the Parr house. This must be a hiking trail or an old overgrown logging road. The team moves at a fast pace, stopping every few minutes to catch a breath.
Black Rock Road comes into sight. No car is there to meet them. The sky is already beginning to lighten; the sun will be up soon. Johnston tries his radio again. Getting nothing but static, he puts it away again.
"We've got to get moving! Where's that backup? We need that vehicle NOW!" he growls. "This is going in my report. If Patterson gets away because of this crap, heads are gonna roll. Believe it..."

Black Rock Road at dawn. While the sky starts to enlighten, the road is still dark (trees are blocking any posible ray of sun that want to touch that area). The team see a light coming from the top of the road... stars descending... now there are two light, coming closer... it's a car.
A black Thunderbird stops in front of the team men. A man with dark clothes, glasses and cap gets outside the car:
"Mo Stevens, from the FBI Special Forces, call me Mo (offers each men a handshake). General Johnston, we got your killer yesterday in the afternoon".
Johnston gets a little confused about the situation, and when he is ready to utter a word, Mo interrupts:
"We had another murder yesterday at midnight sir... a diseboweling. Mr. Killer was being checked at the Sheriff's office since the afternoon... (gives Johnston an afraid look)... it wasn't him. He's not the man we are looking for."

"Good to see you, Mo. We pursued a suspect from the Parr house to the creek. We believe agent Smith is dead. His badge and jacket were found in the basement. If Patterson is in custody, then we have a second killer out here. We need your car..."
Johnston motions toward the vehicle. "We've got to get to the factory. FAST. I'll drive. Get in..."
Johnston leaps into the driver's seat. The agent turns the key and the engine roars to life. The black Thunderbird launches down the blacktop road at top speed, leaving a cloud of tire smoke and scorched rubber behind it.

As they arrive the factory all is still. No birds or any sounds of animals.
"It's eerie here. If Jefferson is really in custody who is the killer?"

"Well, i'm not a supersticious person but... you know in this area we there have always been strange cases. All having to do with murdering..."
Mo looks at the men, like confused:
"Parr... that Parr. We got him... he has something to do with this. I'm so sure, his face, the way he was reacting at everything... Everything has become so strange. Plus, the disemboweled body presents some eerie marks all over the body.... that wasn't done by any of the stupid folks of the town. Their head is too good and religious to be capable of doing that...".
The men look at the factory. It's an eerie, dark place. The river is running under them, sun starts bathing the construction.
