"SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH....".

piercing screams cut the hair, coming from deeper in the woods. you find a dead child hanging from a tree upside down near the ruins of an old house

The hanging kid has rather a creepy grind on his face.

The kid's eyes aren't shut, by the way. He sees you hanging from that branch in a morbid way, his eyes still sparkle.

you try desperately to untie him. he finially falls to the ground but makes no movement, he just stares at you then points to the house. you look at the house then look at the child, you see him sprinting away.

A huge brown owl appears in a nearby tree. It turns its gaze to the group and seems to watch intently. After a few moments it screeches loudly and flies away in the general direction of the house.

Dread is the first and strongest kind of fear. It is that tension, that waiting that comes when you know there is something to fear but you have not yet identified what it is. The fear that comes when you first realize that a window you are sure you closed is now open, the curtains billowing, and you're alone in the house...

There is movement near the ruins. A shadow just beyond the light that seems to fade, grow darker, and then fade again. You can hear a whisper on the wind, behind the rustling of the leaves. A man's voice. The words cannot be made out. But the tone is fearful.

A warning...?
