This is a lot different than what ended up in the movie

Dread is the first and strongest kind of fear. It is that tension, that waiting that comes when you know there is something to fear but you have not yet identified what it is. The fear that comes when you first realize that a window you are sure you closed is now open, the curtains billowing, and you're alone in the house...

And far darker, and interesting.
I think BW2's final concept wasn't that far from this but their stupid commercial approach just ****ed up eerie for weirdo.

Anyone knows where I can read the actually shooting draft?
Because that was also different, in a way, from what the final product ended up

I haven't seen the shooting script online anywhere so I couldn't say. I think I heard on the director's commentary that they were still writing as they were shooting. The whole project was rushed to get it in theaters by Halloween. Might have gotten a better film out of it if they had taken more time.

Greed and impatience (by Artisan) = bad movie

One thing is certain; we're going to need a lot more hemp before we're through.

Sure agree there, about the whole project being rushed. But even if they where writing/changing stuff as they where shotting there gotta be a final draft of the script. you know, a final written draft even if that one is nothing like the finished product. The draft that the first post is referring to I think was the first draft (revised) so I don't know...

I don't know. anyone? I have the 2-disc edition of the dvd(reg.2 from England) and with that there was no shooting script. Not what I know of anyway.
Also no soundtrack as the American reg.1 dvd had.
Do anyone here own the reg.1 dvd (you know the one with the movie on one side and the soundtrack on the other side) and if so: does it have a script on it and that script is not the one that can be found online?
